Arnie, I'll say, in all modesty, that I think I've done all right with my kids--and my wife has, too---coz they have no desire to watch anything on TV that's inappropriate. And, yes, they know they can come & ask me anything, but my wife gets the brunt of the tough questions. My kids view her as the "serious" parent & me as the "silly" one. I'll bet everybody's shocked by that revelation!

Well, I DO get to handle the boys' questions on baseball, basketball, or boxing, & my daughter's questions on literature or music----she doesn't always like my answers re: popular music, however.

Wow..your kids ask you questions? We just always asked them to explain stuff to us! They did their best but a lot of stuff was over our heads.

joe didn't really say he had ANSWERS for all the questions... if he's like me, (and Calvin's dad) he just makes up the most obtuse answer, and keeps going until the kids eyes glaze over... I've been awarded the Golden Shovel award on more than one occassion ya' know! My kids think i'm pretty cool, in a dorky dad kinda way...

You've got me pegged, Arnie. My most famous reply, the one that comes up most often in our household discussions.....Once we were driving by a park where a group of about 8 people were practicing tai chi---I think I've spelled that right, it's pronounced "tie chee"---holding their arms up in the air for what seemed like a very long time. My kids asked what they were doing, & I said that their deodorants failed & their underarms were wet.

hey! If I agree to buy you lunches for the rest of your life, you're ornery enough to stick around for a very long feast!
that seems like a good plan to me!

anytime...

my one and only hank story;

georgia and i went to a nightclub west of york, pa to watch stern's wack pack mud wrestle...after, when nicole bass got hank to the harrisburg airport..he had to be transported on a luggage cart and was so drunk that they wouldn't allow him to board the plane....loaded him in a cab and and by the time the two hour trip to philly airport was over, hank had regained some sense of
alertness and was allowed to board.

who me??? georgia poured me into my house sometime the same night.

thanks for the laughs, big man!

let the dead take care of the dead.
i speak of the living. jc
