Very neat story about your aunt. I hope she is doing better. Prayers and vibes to her and Sue. She sounds like me. I found the one true love of my life and I don't think I could ever want anyone else...

Well, it's been a week after the third treatment; so far so good. I haven't had any new bleeds in that eye. I've kept my blood sugars under tight control, and that has to be helping. Reading still isn't great with that eye, the doctor nicked my iris during the second treatment (he said it sometimes happens) so my pupil isn't totally round anymore. It is more dialated than the right eye in normal indoor light (my daughter says that eye looks stoned!). That stuff is just cosmetic, and most people will never notice. In sunlight, it looks to be about the same size as the right. I go back on March 1 for a follow-up visit, to see if the treatment was successful.

It was an ordeal coming home from the third treatment on the 26th...we left DC at 3:30, just when the federal government workers were allowed to go home because of the ice and snow. Not going into a lot of details, but we were caught up in that traffic mess...a 40 min. trip turned into 7 1/2 hours...and then another two hours at the beginning of our road to shovel out the stuck cars (Jim's car that we were in, our son's and a neighbor's) and get them home on the 10-inch deep snow covered unplowed roads. We ended up having dinner at 1:30 AM.

I was thankful that I anticipated a possible problem getting home, and had water, a granola bar (which I ended up needing because my blood sugar level dropped too low) and the pain med bottle with me. I never thought it would take so long to get home! What a mess!

It was on our news that traffic tie-up. Looked like a real mess. Glad you're doing better... :)
