There is a Coop started in the Basque Region of Spain in the 50's, which is now the 7th largest company in Spain. That Coop owns the Bank and a Collage too. Upon retirement they cash in their shares to go along with the Social Security it has.

It can work here in this Union on local levels.

Here in this link the USW is working with Mondragon to form Union sort of ownership Coops here and in Canada.

When the bottom falls through, these coops are what will pick us up again.

This is a very worth while pledge to take. For its about the only way this Union will ever get to its Dreams. Ya, we have to be asleep to believe that dream.

I've heard Thom Hartmann talk about the Mondragon Cooperative, and once he had one of its leaders on his program. It gives hope that maybe someday, if we don't poison or blow up every living thing first, we humans could get it right.

Mondragon is the best system, for all, I have yet to hear of. And I liked me times as a Union Wirenut in the IBEW a lot. If MSM would talk about it, it would happen almost overnight. Don't let DC touch it though. It will work just fine on Local City, County and State levels. Even if the bottom falls out completely    ... it will be there to build US back.

I've thought from the first time I heard of this Cooperative, from my Mom, out of the Catholic Digest, many years ago, that it was the answer this Land needs for US to earn an honest 21st Century Living Wage.

So that then, we could all take care of ourselves like the GOP keeps babbling on about.

"With all due respect, we can only wish those Tea Party activists who gathered in Washington and other cities this week weren't so single-minded about just who's responsible for all their troubles, real and imagined. They're up in arms, so to speak, against Big Government, especially the Obama administration.

If they thought this through, they'd ...More be joining forces with other grassroots Americans who in the coming weeks will be demonstrating in Washington and other cities against High Finance, taking on Wall Street and the country's biggest banks." -- Bill Moyers

Indian Chief 'Two Eagles' was asked by a white government official, 'You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done.'

The Chief nodded in agreement.
The official continued, 'Considering all these events, in your opinion,? Where did the white man go wrong?'

The Chief stared at the government official for over a minute and then calmly replied. 'When white man come to this land, Indians running it: no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man is free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex.'

Then the chief leaned back and smiled. 'Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.'

Since its inception in 1913, the Federal Reserve has helped to devalue our dollar by 95%. During the recent economic crisis, it has poured trillions of dollars into the economy with no oversight, made secret agreements with foreign banks and governments, and has refused to tell Congress who is getting the money or to give it the details of what deals are being made.

HR 1207, Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed bill," and S 604, its Senate companion, will demand full transparency from the Federal Reserve for the first time in history by removing all restrictions from Government Accountability Office (GAO) audits of the Fed and mandating an audit by the end of 2010.

Help turn up the heat on Congress and convince them to pass Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed" bill. Your petitions, e-mails, letters and phone calls have already made a huge impact, but more of your help is needed right away. Please take a few moments to tell your Congressman to support HR 1207, and urge your Senators to cosponsor S 604. Our tools below make it quick and easy to make a difference today!

Auditing the Fed must happen if we're ever going to get a handle on our money woes, but who besides the Fed could do it? Big conflict of interest problem. And if anyone else does it, the results will come to most Americans through the CNN and Fox pundits. Then it will not become reform, but instead a lot of finger-pointing and other distractionary measures from both sides of the aisle. The days of the two-party system is a leviathan which has got to go. For me, real freedom is NOT my "freedom" to have only two choices to pick from on my menu. The concept of FREEDOM implies unlimited choices; anything less and we're getting shorted.......

The Ron Paul Bill calls for the G.A.D. (I believe that's the Department.) to Audit the Fed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncw39IADHa4

It is a growing movement with many people waking up to the fact that we need sound money again. (If we ever had it...)

There is a Book called, "The Coming Battle," written in the 1890s about how the banking money power had caused all of the depressions of the 1800s. And the one in the 1870s was just about as bad as the 1930s were. Its the same battle going on today.

The Bank of the State of North Dakota is not part of the FED. It lends money to the smaller banks there, and some of the profits go to pay their taxes there.

"If the wealth & labor of this world was distributed equally, every human being would have an annual income of $102,716.00 for only 15 hours a week of work. Pull your head out of your ass, your enemy is not the poor - it is the rich!" --Unknown

"For nearly nine decades, the GAO has a proven track record of conducting objective, fact-based, nonpartisan, non-ideological, fair, and balanced audits. Through these audits, the GAO helped save the American taxpayers $50 billion last year alone by rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government," reads a letter circulated by Sanders. "Let's not equate independence with secrecy. We cannot let the Fed operate in secrecy any longer. There is simply too much money at stake."

From Eileen Fleeming's "We Are Wide Awake" site.

As mothers bear the loss of human life more acutely than anyone else, in 1870, Julia Ward Howe wrote the first Mother's Day Proclamation, from which I excerpt:

Arise then...women of this day!
Arise, all women who have hearts!
Whether your baptism be of water or of tears!
From the voice of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with
Our own. It says: "Disarm! Disarm!
The sword of murder is not the balance of justice.
Blood does not wipe our dishonor; nor violence indicate possession. At the summons of war let women now leave all that may be left of home for a great and earnest day of counsel.
Let them meet first, as women, to bewail and commemorate the dead.
Let them solemnly take counsel with each other as to the means
Whereby the great human family can live in peace;
Each bearing after his own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar;
But of God.
