This tickles me -- and this'll be a much longer walk than the one from Symphony Space to Columbus Circle. I've suggested that they sing a certain song...

:) No, but that'd be another good one. No, the one I had in mind begins, "As I went walking that ribbon of highway..."

"Manchester Rambler" also would be a good one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv0OPOZBWxI); it's about a different kind of walking but celebrates trespassing.

Thanks for sharing Eileen.

Highway in the wind?

Key to the highway?

Walkin' blues?

This land is your land!

Keep up the pressure young people, and be safe.

Oh, my...that's good, Kevin (though I'm personally partial to this version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_shp6h0gmRw )

But I can see this as a theme song for a new generation...

"Check out my boots, I'm goin' back to my roots." And what can I say about the NS vid, quite a flash-back. We have come a long way baby.

From Salon re: the march, that should be starting right now.

Well it's ten people right now, but, can you imagine ten people...

A Gandhi tactic. I wonder if they will make salt when they get there. These folks have studied their protest instruction manual. Like a stone gathering moss, it accretes people from town to town, takes months and gets media both local and national every step of the way. I'm a little concerned for their security. Let's hope the locals come out to help them.

Hold the line. This is working. Now if the officials will come down off their high horses. The Mayor of Oakland got an opening and instead sent her aide. Bad move.

Hey Lenny,

She acts more like Harding than Quan. (Sorry, I know that was wrong, but I couldn't resist)

I'm looking for an update on the road warriors, any info?

They are tweeting their progress (and needs):

http://twitter.com/#!/NYCmarch2DC

They're in Elizabeth, NJ.

One thing that has really struck me about the Occupy folks: They are giant nerds (and I mean that in a good way). They've even got their whole route googled out.

All my friends are out protesting
Marching for me and you
Without their love and kindness
I don't know what we'd do
Oh, our accounts have all been emptied
Our retirement plans been spent
And the only folks who'll help us
Some call dirty hippies in a tent
Oh our governments not listening
I hope they will be soon
It's so damn cold this morning
I can't wait till June
Occupy like the wild birds
Its a dawning day
Spring wind blew my list of
Where to occupy away

Jack Johnson covered this Greg Browns song.

Sorry I posted this with my phone this morning. I remembered it was a cover, to hard to correct via phone.

Here is Jacks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulH-8k013_Y

Thanks Eileen!

They've issued a call for artists to help out. They are setting up a page for the work. Let's get cracking!
