Check out the excellent 2004 presidential election parody of woody guthrie's "this land is your land" at http://www.jibjab.com
if the server is too busy, try again -- it's worth the wait!

I love that thing. But check this out: http://money.cnn.com/2004/07/26/comment ... tm?cnn=yes

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K. This is just so wrong -- and soo not about principles. It's all money. Why do lawyers always ruin good things like this?

Woody must be spinning around in his grave over that one.

Why don't they do something like sue everyone who fails
to perform the last verses of the song. That does one helluva
lot more damage to the song than any parody ever could.
If you don't sing the song about the relief office and the
'no trespassing' sign, you transform 'This Land is Your Land'
into not much more than 'God Bless America.'

And Ludlow knows good and well that this would be nothing but a
SLAPP suit anyway...parody is protected under copyright
law, and this is ESPECIALLY so when the parody is political
commentary.

But what is so terribly ironic is that Ludlow knowingly swims
upstream against the very kind of thing which Woody Guthrie
would have loved.

After all, his motto was: 'I ain't predjudiced, I offend everybody
equally.'

Let's hope that the Guthrie family will pointedly remind Ludlow that
they're still supposed to be workin' for Woody.

Has anyone talked to Arlo to see what his take on this parody is? After reading the article about the publishing company suing, I would love to hear what Arlo thinks...

That election parody teach me alot of thing that how corrupt we are in this world that does not let us die in peace though but you can still bear those things as I learned many things from university assignment help and writing can surely change for living and give you a peace of mind though. but if you are not this capable then I would say you can go for the long term run that can make you special.

That song is not a joke. It is about unity. I've heard people make fun of this song. Such a simple soulful, positive song. I still believe in the spirit of it.
