Pete's music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When my father was about 10, a family friend gave him a Weavers album. It's the first non-classical music record I can remember ever listening to. As a young pre-teen/teen, I loved the PBS specials they showed during fundraising time - Pete and Arlo, Live at Wolftrap. In my middle teens - the ultimate! - I talked my parents into buying tickets for a joint Pete and Arlo concert at Wolftrap. On long car drives, Pete is a frequent choice of musical companion. I only wish I had gotten the opportunity to someday meet the man and hear his life story first hand.

Rest in peace, Pete. And thank you for all the music!

I heard this morning on the radio, my thoughts are with his family and friends.

At the time of passing take a moment in your sorrow to remember the love shared with all those who have gone on ahead.

My condolences to Arlo on losing a life long friend and to all of Pete's family and friends.
R.I.P Pete, you are now singing with the angels.

He's traded in his banjo for a harp. I'm sure he's leading singalongs in heaven already. RIP, Pete.

So long Pete. You were my hero. A man of courage, compassion and conviction. A man who served in the military (as opposed to the Fox news war mongers) and opposed war and censorship and oppression of any kind - a true patriot, a true American. A real musical talent (as opposed to the one note, crotch grabbing, vulgar, no talent wonders of today), a man who composed some of the most inspiring music ever. I'm happy I got to hear Pete & Arlo at Town Hall; I'm sad it was only once. I look forward to a tribute at Clearwater this year. So long Pete, we hardly new ya.

I heard while driving in to work today. I love the folkslinger's concerts. They kept me alive during the Bush (W.) years, but I have to admit that the best concert I have ever attended was Pete Seeger at UMO in 1976. He did put a song on everybody's lips and kept hope alive when it seemed so impossible. Arlo, I hope to get back to seeing you this year after a few year hiatus. Maybe that will keep the light burning for a few more years.

Thanks Pete. It's hard to see you go, but it was great to have had the opportunity to see you while you were here.

Thanks Arlo.
