I pulled out my "Hobo's Lullaby" CD yesterday and lo and behold, there on the back, sits Arlo reading "Thor". I can tell you that that was enough to get me to go out and see it later in the afternoon(and I really liked it, except the theater near me only had the 3D version and I'm not crazy about 3D -- makes my head hurt). I don't know who had the foresight to negotiate that "product placement" deal with Arlo way back when, but it really worked.

When I saw that on the album cover, I thought that was kinda neat.

This 1972 album was Arlo Guthrie's fifth, and continued his confident move from humorous troubadour (ALICE'S RESTAURANT) to one of the finest of the early practitioners of country-rock. After the gorgeous WASHINGTON COUNTY, which featured numerous originals, this time out Arlo focused almost exclusively on other people's material.
