I have implemented some simple SPAM protection but haven't had a lot of time to check it out. It basically should only show up when a person goes to register - and simply asks the user to answer one of two questions at random.

Please let me know if you experience any problems with posting or sending messages - basically if you are already registered (and signed in) you should never see this protection.

So, let me all know your experiences... and if you are somehow locked out of the forums, contact me directly through the Contact Us form on the site!

Trying to keep your browsing experience SPAM free...

You're a cool dude Dave!

Edited to say: It asked me one of the questions when I submitted this post.

Thanks so much, Dave, and Larry and Arnie, for taking care of us and of this wonderful place. The spam was getting tiresome.

Edited to say that I also was asked a question when I posted this. It was not a problem and should not be a problem for any real community member.

Thank you Dave!

I was online when they all came in the other morning.
I saw the first one and thought nothing of it, but when I started to reply to the second post, all of a sudden there were 6 or more.

I think this is a great idea. It shouldn't be any problem to people.

Just made a quick change... This should only pop up during the registration process now - so no one should see this any more. It was originally set up to allow use for boards that allow Guest users to post... we do not, so there is no sense in having it come up before posting.
