Anyone else have issues with Safari or Chrome loading the Resources menu at arlo.net? After the recent Mac update 10.6.8 I can't seem to get the menu to load. For kicks I tried Chrome - same deal, tho I don't use it much. No problems with firefox however... so just wondering....

Don't have a Mac so can't test. All is well with PC and IE using resources.

However sites are reporting install problems with Safari and 10.6.8 particularly if clients have Flash. I looked at the Resources source and didn't see Flash referenced though the problems with Flash may be serious and Steve Jobs said this would happen. These are also happening with Chrome so you may want to look at the first URL below. There are also problems reported with Safari shutting down when using Tabs and problems with a new Java plugin.

I've had the same trouble as you, Arlo. I finally got to the forums today by using Firefox instead of Safari just now.

As I said, I've a PC and can't test, but someone deinstall Flash and see if the browser behaves. I'm assuming this is a browser problem on the client and not a server side problem that Dave can fix. Most of the pages are reporting Flash problems. It's easy to test and easy to reinstall if it doesn't fix the problem.

It's a design issue - Dave does't do flash, so that's not the problem. The home page is long overdue for an overhaul anyway... This just kinda moved up that priority. Suggestions on the design aspect welcome...

Ack. I looked through the HTML script and didn't see anything Flashy there but since they were getting browser speciific problems post update of the opsys, it seemed worth trying as low hanging fruit.

Good luck with the redesign. I find myself in a depot doing VB Word automation for RPSTL output. Glad I spent those years in and out of carderock and coding VB for fun. Having been up the ladder, here at the bottom again I know some tricks. It seems all the work we did on IETMs was wasted on the Army though.

Just fixed the issue with Safari... I think! At least it looks ok in my version (5.1 on a MacBook running Lion). It has been widely reported though that there is a memory leak with Safari 5.1 under Lion (among other issues). If you are on a Mac and haven't made the jump, I would at least recommend waiting till the 10.7.1 release is out. I did a completely clean reinstall (and didn't use Migration Assistant) and it's running OK, but still a tad buggy (common for a .0 release). First time I installed and used Migration Assistant and it was doing better than others were reporting, but it still seemed to be more problematic that a completely fresh install and reload of my apps.

Do you think you could fix my memory leak?
