Only if "breaking out in boogie" means some kind of hives made from snot.

Otherwise, I'm fine with it.

It's what I do. I hope it didn't cause you to break out in snot hives. If so, try some Kleenex with Benedryl.

well the Kinks Konvention is on again in Tufnel Park as Jim Rodford steps into the band for John Dalton who is tired of it all. Rodford just finished a tour with the reformed Zombies and (it is rumored) is stepping into a Kaste off roll. I can't make it across this time as Pete is coming to Nashville where we are going to rent a car and travel around Tennessee and head for Graceland, Graceland in Memphis Tennessee. I was at Graceland once when it first opened. Standing in line with a bunch of old white women in sequened Elvis T-Shirts crying that his death was a hoax even as we stood in front of the grave. Walkin' in to the living room and seeing the gold plated piano with all them women crying and moaning. I just had to persuade Pete to come over and see it before we head to Sun Studio and drink to much on Beale Street (I will get them (Jim is going too) to go into the Stax museum (if you could you would see me dancin now with my boxin hands going left then right "Walkin' the Dog" git it Rufus or maybe a little Shaft "can you dig it")). We will eventually end up at the Ryman for the Black Crowes. I want to go to the Station Inn of course but it looks like we missed Roland White by a week (damn, I hadn't seen Roland in years) I sure will miss those streets of London though?

PS Beaty, I hope you have a blast in Memphis. We live about 90 miles from there, but avoid the city as much as possible. Too bad you can't go for Memphis in May, but that's in May! There are bunches of bands then. Some parts of Memphis are as dangerous as Little Rock used to be, so be careful. I recently got to go to Little Rock to see The Eagles! It was a wonderful concert! Glen Frey said it was the Assisted Living Tour-making fun of their ages.

That is so cool you got to Graceland. We'd love to go. Mike is a huge Elvis fan. I know he'd enjoy it there...

seems it is that way all around the world but thanks for the warning! I never spent much time in Little Rock but I used to go to a place called the Buffalo River (good canoeing) a lot and occasionally cross the border up into Missouri to a town called Noel. Don't know why we went to Noel, we would just occasionally go to Noel. I guess it is because Noel was once sort of a summer resort town and all the old folks in my family remember travelin to Noel at some point in time in the 20's and even in the 30's and so, as if called by some instinct, we end up driving through Noel everytime we go up there. It was one of them points you had to hit, Noel then Eureka Springs then past Pea Ridge back through Fort Smith then Tahlequah (usually the great circle was about a visit to a cemetery or two to find the name of an ancestor on a stone in places named with names like Vinita and Gore and just to hear an old forgotten story that usually involved the family moving and settling in this or that country for awhile and somebody getting sick and dying in this or that wave of pestilence before they moved again. Seems like people died a lot more often in those old days for no apparent reason at all? (awful lot of graves of fairly young people as well as the old between 1917 and 1920 for some reason) I had a grandfather who was always quick with a shovel to fill in those sagging parts of the graves. Never could figure out how he was always able to pull a shovel out of that crowded trunk. THen there was that Famous Folkfair there in 1973 where I met a fruit stand vendor who said he was just going to have to go down there into the crowd and smoke some of that was going around. I said yep, ya really should do that! THat was the first place I saw the Earl Scruggs Revue and they were almost immediately followed by the Lester Flatt Band (the Nashville Grass I believe) who still had Roland playing mandolin as he was about to depart and start playing with Clarence again for the last three months before Clarence was taken from us.

but as the old song says:

Wagoner girls, they know how to party

How cool! I have a few old videos of Earl Scruggs, one features a young Roger Mcguinn. Earl could certainly make that banjo sing!
It sounds like you've traveled through some beautiful country. I like to go to Hot Springs, AR. The natural hot springs, spas and horse racing are the attractions, but the lakes and rugged hills (locally known as mountains) are beautiful.
If you enjoy casinos, Tunica Mississippi is right around the cornor from Memphis!
