Did you get your mail today
and did the paper have to say
everything about the day
children coming out to play
running out of things per say
and does it really matter?

Sometimes I live in the city
Sometimes I live in town
Sometimes I take a great notion
To jump in the river and drown.

They were words on a wall , carved into stone ,and as I read them , made me feel so alone ...they spoke of a wisdom crisp and clear,But no one seemed to heed them , maby they couldent see so clear...of courage and light they spoke of my friend ..In a green cemetry called Arlington...At a reflictave pool they look back at you..its not really hidden , the meaning is true ..there hope of your freedom ..they are talking to you ...to live and let live ...like a gift forever makes me feal blue...Its my hope they dident die in vain ..I wouldent want to be the one who would flush those soles down the drain ....dont tell me those words dont mean anything anymore ..we can do anything ..we can stamp out war..

SilverJoe, far-out! I like it, think I'll print it. Great stuff...

*Kitty I'm not much on writing music. I can't read music (I know that shouldn't matter). There are only so many 3 chord songs you can write...We'll unless your a genious, don't have to mention a name...Image

**I realize your VERY busy now, on OUR project. If you ever need to take a break from the serious stuff, feel free to make up a tune to those poems. I would be flattered. My old guitar buddy, just came into allot of cash (wind-fall) and he's on the booze bad. So I don't collaborate allot anymore. Most of my ol musician friends, have gone on to bigger and better things..A few of them play thier own circut, and have made a living.

I can't read a lick of music either!

Woody said the the key of G is the people's chord, so I try to do as much as I can in G. If I can't do it in G, I capo it up 3, and do it in G anyway!! Image Image
Keep up the good music you guys....it's really great to see it unfolding!!

THAT HEARTBEAT SOUND
someones' tears water anothers plants
someones' hot foot anothers dance,

6 billion heartbeats make a thunderous sound
on one small blue marble spinning round and round

barley know where we've been, cant tell where we're bound
all laughin and cryin with that heartbeat sound

divided by borders, we set up in our heads,
unaware that 6 billion, on the same path we tread,

some caught up in hatred some caught up in fear
some livin by laughin some livin thru tears
on one small blue marble spinnin around & around,
and always that thunder, that heartbeat sound

ok musicians, do your stuff!!!!
(I kinda hear a Tennessee walking bass, aha, or reggae even, hmmm!)

And my soul hungers
facing the abyss
Stands alone and falls
into the depths of its longing.

And my soul hungers
wailing in the night
flys alone and rises
Over the dark horizen.

And my soul hungers
waits to touch your heart
naked in the morning
clothe it with your love. Image

RE-reading this thread reminded me of editing some badly written poems..Looking at the bottom of the page, considering the date, made me think a bit????

*I read the news today oh boy!

I heard the news on my car radio
On Doc and Woody, they said it so slow
One block from my TV, I had to go home
I turned on my set, glad I wasn't alone

The news that day, was very surreal
Then seconds later, a second plane squealed
Seeing it live, in my own living room
Made me think I was dreaming, It couldn't be true

Many brave men died, while the whole world cried
No not they go for in vain, as a people we're feeling thier pain

Time goes on, and the Country's share in the bombs
Born with a gun in thier hand, does dying really make them a man?

***dunno..just playin with some
words.............
