(Since Guthries and Blunderites seem to wish people a heartfelt "Happy Everything" this time of year, I thought we could use a new holiday simply called "Everything", and every holiday needs it's own poem.....so....)

'Twas the night before Everything
and all through the caboose
not a creature was stirring
not even a moose

The train we rode home
was the City of New Orleans
We hit every bump
It was rough on our spleens

But get home we must
For it's this time of year
that folks of good faith
love to spread good cheer

The stockings were hung
by the Menorah with care
confused though we were
Everything was in the air

Rudolph the reindeer and
Herman the Chanukah candle
Cecil the Ramadan dromedary
some hippy in sandles

Gathered all to share
in blessed confusion
If only to prove
peace is not an illusion...........

( round robin work in progress....jump on in!)

what a funny thing
when you put it that way
"'twas the night before 'everything'"
outloud i did say

no need to unriddle
a word on a wing
it's the secrets of the celery
everything is everything!

Everything was exciting,
Everything was quite warm
and thoughtful and caring
Everything's not the norm.
But we wish it to be
and this wish which we
have wished ought to be
More than the least
of the wishes that we
have wished for you see.
(Got stuck in the 'ee' rhyme, dear me!)

Now Everything might be over,
but it's really just begun.
Since Everything is always
We'll always have fun.

May your Everything be always
and forever bright.
And to all a good Everything
I must go to sleep
Could you turn out the light?
Thanks!
