my kid called tonight...haven't heard from her in a while...she is on the road in Nashville heading to the Station Inn for some Bluegrass and hoping to get to see Tim O'Brien tomorrow night (oh Red Knuckles hisself). Called in and asked where a godd beer was to be found (I told her that River Brewery had some fine brews). She asked about Tim,? said she remembered a Tim Obrien I used to play a song about a Rock in my shoe and asked if it was the same character. I said what are you in Nashville for and she said a few days...caught a bus out of Pittsburgh and Nashville was as far as the coin would take them she says...I don't know where she got it?

Tim Obrien. I remember him & his old lady were one of the opening acts for Arlo at a folk fest in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Sad thing is 3 of the folks that were there, Dennis, Mike & his sister are gone now...

I remember seeing this band (well sort of band) once along time ago (well around 85 when this was videoed). I remember they were billed as the The Flying Burrito Byrd Brothers and it was a strange hodge podge of touring remnants of many different bands and they played all afternoon at the Zoo Amphitheatre...You would look at the equipment and it was stenciled with names like Stills and Manassas and FireFall and McGuinn as well as the Byrds, the Burritos and Rick Roberts and it was just a continuing changing of players with Gene Clark going up and playing a few songs and then Sneaky Pete sitting in on Pedal Steel for awhile and Skip Batten coming up and doing songs then Rick Roberts would do a couple and it was like a big traveling and jamming show with Gene Clark really being the epicenter of the entire outfit. Just a huge hodge podge of equipment and people that had just been traveling around for years and years by that time. One of those incredibly odd shows on a summer afternoon that I wish I had a recording.

well, I am not going to argue with that now that OU is out! I hated seeing the OU women go out more than the men for some reason.
