Ok, the Group W forums are open for posting... feel free to do so. I had forgotten that I had them locked down to admins & moderators to keep new posts from showing up till things were moved. They are open now though - and don't worry, it's safe to post... I'll look into the other weirdness... Maybe something went screwy with the member move. But I can fix that without disturbing new stuff.

Just give me a bit of time to fix the username weirdness... Weird thing is, some are right, others are off.

I'm listed as being Tweed too on some of my posts lol. Figured you'd want to know...


Also have a question about the Group W Forums. I noticed the old Group W forums are still at their old place http://www.arlo.net/ubb/cgi-bin/Ultimat ... ity+Forums . The new ones seem to be at a different web address than the old ones being linked to the Arlonet forums http://www.arlo.net/resources/forums/in ... d7e9b00dc1
. Does this mean we abandon the old ones off the Group W site in favor of these or are both gonna be up online? Just wondering. Right now I'm checking them all out as long as they are up Just wondering as this is confusing

I have had to lock the Group W Forums temporarily... as it occured to me, it will be easier to fix the messed up posters without any new posts. They are currently open for browsing only. This is only temporary, as I expect the problem to be resolved within a day.

Dave, just in case it's a hack and not a bug, I got an e-mail from somenoe who said she was Emily G. but it came via Bev K's e-mail address. Larry(not tweed) I sent you the e-mail as well.

While you and I think of each other as collections of letters like kurt and Dave and so on, bulletin boards think of us as numbers that can be displayed as a collection of letters. Since ArloNet and GroupW were different boards, I am amazed that I got the same number on ArloNet and GroupW. It'll take a while to sort out.

Actually, I don't need to know... I have the original database from the import with correct names. I should be able to correct things by doing some comparison... But it will require me to write some additional code because there are several places where things will have to be corrected.

kurt - you are dead on... i wrote something that did it's best to add missing members and try and sync the 2 together - but apparently it wasn't perfect. You were one of the ones that it actually worked on.

Larry, just to make things clear I did send you an e mail first telling you that your were now Tweed, but I DID NOT send you any e mail saying I was Emily G.

I actualy find that kind of violating that someone other than me is using my e mail address.

Just so every boady knows, If you get an email off me please email me back to let me know; that way if it wasn't me that sent it then I can say so.

Hi, Beverly... long time no talk I don't think anybody was impersonating you or trying to send email from someone else's name. I think what happened was a numeric mixup (like Kurt explained) and all our "identities" got mixed up in the transition over from the old Group W to this new one. Sit tight, Dave will have it fixed in no time at all.
