There's nothing like trying to make music. John Philip Sousa bemoaned the phonograph because who's gonna go to the trouble of learning to make music when all ya gotta do is push a button.

was listenin to some old Colorado music by RR, inspired by this song that i hadn't heard in years and years, old vinyl just keeps on ticking

Davy Mcvie was an older man
Lived in nearly ever town in the land
When he hit his strike
In old New Mexico
He was 46, down on his luck
Minin’ for years
when he finally struck
Blistered in the sun
frozen in the snow

now Davy don’t you work so hard
for the prize you’ve found
it’ll all be gone
when you turn around
nothing lasts forever anyway
when you are not so young
time flies by
it’ll all be gone
in the blink of an eye
take it easy Davy what you say

Now Davy went to town
To find a lady
Get a little drunk
Act a little crazy
Find a girl he thought might share his bed
Well he found a girl who would go along
And he rolled in her arms
All night long
Till he woke in the morning feeling nearly dead

Now Davy don’t you work so hard….

Now Davy watch where you are goin
You know you are headed for a fall
You are the same man you were
Before your ship came in
Money don’t make you wiser
Money don’t make you tall
Just cause you got all the chips
Don’t mean you’re gonna win

well man alive i am a tellin you
if you don't have a uke get one
this thing has consumed my weekend playin all the old songs and stuff just to see how they go
my fav dylan has been subteranean homesick blues (that'll get the uke juices a flowing
track of my tears was good too and Candyman by the dead (thanks to Tom over there i posted some lines then had to go play the stupid song but it plays well on the uke

my fav beatles song so far (i haven't gone beatles on it much yet though)
is He's a real nowhere man
sitttin in his nowhere land
makin all his nowhere plans
for nobody

it's a sad one i know but it worked so well i played it four times i have to do day in the life and see if i can pull off a dream sequence

ahhhh ahh ahh ahhhhh ahhh ahh ahh ah ahaahhahhhh

thanks to Folk Uke for inspiring to get this silly thing after all these years

by the way iawoke to a dream

i dreamed little boy superman jumped in a snake pit to kill a few snakes and the sand came alive with snakes and wrapped around his body and pulled him in as i was beginning to awake i was playing a song on the uke went somethin like

well come on all you big strong men
uncle sam needs yer help again
got himself in a terrible jam
in the sandy oilfields near iran
so put down yer books and pick up a gun
we are going to have a whole lot of fun

can't remember the rest of the verses (any help out there?)

"and it's 1,2,3, what are we fightin' for?.."

...now wouldn't that be nice, everybody just up an say, "i'm getting tired of all this fighting, how about we just stop all this nonsense?...hey, i always wanted to wear my hair like this...come in and have some pie?"

well it's just a thought
i may be a little dilerious but that is beside the point

I have on an old cassette tape around here where I taped Mike singing Nowhere Man along with the Beatles on the radio when we were dating. He was singing in tune alittle more than he does now lol...

i don't know..., for some reason i was seeing two sides of a story. the one side, being on the outside looking in...the side they sing about from the outside looking in perspective but really...i think he does have a point of view, even if it's hard to tell...and i think he does see you, after all.
