Makes no difference that the topic generated some posts...
Some were even "off topic".
I thought that discussion was what this place was about?

Been wrong before...
and will be again.

Surprised that the whole topic wasn't deleted.

We try not to wander too far off topic on the resource boards and try to keep it on "topic A".The are numerous postings on the support/technical boards in regards to this. And thats where this topic is headed to arlonet support/technical.

don't know why you were 'surprised', since the only stuff that gets deleted here is spam and duplicate postings. I guess since you're a virgin yet, we can forgive that lack of knowledge. We may move or close a thread as the situation warrants, and there's actually little of that done as well. If we were control freaks, we'd shut most threads down after two or three postings, as 'asked & answered'... but that's not why we're here. If you want to have moral, ethical, and/or just plain old opinionated discussions, take it over to any of the Group W forums, such as BlunderBoard or Topical Tropical Discussions...
We'll let your tongue waddle like a ducks behind all day long!

new folks might not realize the separation of the boards since they are on the same page now...

Did not appreciate the distinction between the different forum separations.
On my board there are only two.
New to this board...
not new to the PHP concept.

good observation goofus.

PHP has nothing to do with logical setup of the forums, it's just the motor that runs the show.
Group W forums were until recently running under a different motor (and a different page), and threads could not be moved from Arlo Net Main Forums to Group W (and vice-versa).
Recently the W!z brought Group W under the same umbrella, and now all we have is the logical (and titular) separations.

For the record:
Arlo Net Main Forums are the 'official' discussion forums for Arlo.Net, and as such we request all content to (try and) be on topic-A (or as indicated).
Group-W forums are the remnants of the 'original' Arlo.Net forums, where it was (and remains) a bring your own topic sort of place. We still try to sort out the serious from the blunderful down to the downright silly, but there's lotsa stretch all around. Finally, we've segregated the 'operational' forums, related to news, announcements and technical support issues, just to add to the general confusion (well it IS Arlo.Net, right?)

I hope this is a good reminder/primer for all!
Enjoy your time at Arlo.Net!
