I received about 50 copies of the same e-mail from no_reply@arlo.net about camping passes to the Falcon Ridge Folk festival. What gives?

I'm pretty sure Dave is working on it.

Yes, Sparky, the Guthrie Center email list is being sent by the arlo.net server.

I too have received multiple postings-probably more than 50 from the Guthrie Center on Falcon Ridge over the past 3-4 days. I am just about ready to request that my e-mail be taken off the center's mailing list. That's even why I signed up for this forum! I love Arlo and was delighted when he and the Mammals visited the KU campus a year or so ago with his 35th Anniversary Alice's Restaurant Massacre Tour. But in the old phrase of the 1960s-70s, I feel I'm being hassled by "the man". Know Arlo and crew would not want this to be happening! Web master, are you listening out there. Help!!!!!

I don't know, it might be someone doing something nefarious, but a couple of years ago I sent an e-mail with a homemade moose Christmas card to a bunch of Blunderites, and my Mac Mail got stuck so that every time I launched e-mail, it sent that card to all of them again. They were getting Christmas cards in January, in February ... I had to abandon the e-mail program on my hard drive and use Web mail for a long time. I tried re-loading software, everything! I knew if I just deleted the program, I'd lose my address list. So every once in awhile I'd launch it, and it would send the card again, in July, in August ... Finally this year I was able to launch it and not send the card. But I'm still timid about using it. I'm pretty sure they use Mac Mail at the GC; I hope it's not another moose card-type thing. If it is, it's not a server, really, and nothing to do with the Web, and George could be sending them by merely launching Mail. (And he'd have no idea unless someone told him--I don't think he gets on arlo.net much.)

Hi Shelly,

George has me send the email through the server. Dave is working with the provider folks. Hopefully it'll be better soon.

Apologies for the delete key workout.

HI FOLKS... We're trying to figure out what the F%&K is happening with the email blast about Falcon Ridge. As of this moment I have no idea why or from where it's coming. George at the church hasn't answered any questions I've had, so I don't know if was just a screw up from their end, or if someone broke into the list and went nuts.

The GC website is undergoing some changes, and went on hold while we try to update the RSR site. We'll get to the bottom of it eventually... so SORRY for the craziness.

Oh, not a problem. Life would be REALLY boring if there wasn't something to try and figure out
