If we get our snow, maybe we can swap. No that won't work-if we trade snow for salt, you will need the salt or we will need the salt!

It's done with us; from the radar, el_libra's got it now. The system's stretched from southeastern Oklahoma to the very tip of southeastern Ontario. If it moves as fast as it did through here, though, it shouldn't cause too much grief. At 10 a.m. they said it would start snowing at 4 p.m.; instead, it started at noon and it ended 12 hrs. earlier than predicted. We get real excited when it snows; a local TV station that posts photos people send in got more than 1,600: http://www.nbc5i.com/news/15520571/detail.html

I'm sorry, SparkyDon. If it had been up to me, we'd have kept more for ourselves and spared you a bit. It's almost all gone here.

Canada is such a backwards country.....breaking the snowfall record indeed! Haven't you guys heard about global warming? And still talking about breaking records! Here in the USA, we don't break records anymore, we break CD's and Mp3's and stuff! Geez!

Well, this morning it looks like we're getting our share of the snow! It's coming down hard! We haven't had enough snow here to build a snowman since my youngest daughter was born, and she's 20.

Around here we usually have our first bar-r-que of the year in March and start seeing mosquiteos! Now we have 2 rose bushes that need to be planted and we were going to do that this week. We also had a fishing trip planned at Lake Ouachita near Hot Springs.

We're originally from St. Louis and used to be amused by the "southerners" who didn't know how to drive in ice and snow. Now it's not as entertaining. Even when you can get a round without a problem, you have to watch out for the other guys sliding into you. By the way, the best method is to d-r-i-v-e s-l-o-w-l-y......and don't hit the break. In this kind of weather, 4-wheel drive often just means that all 4 wheels will drive into the ditch.

If it's any consolation to y'all with the snow...I was out in the yard with the dog a little while ago, and heard the first spring peeper frogs of the season out by the creek behind the house...!

Hahaha....
Yes, I believe the snow has 'peaked'...
I'm actually in the eastern foothills of the Rockies... they got about 20' of snow in Telluride (about 150 miles west of here) but I don't think we had more than about six inches on the ground at any time this winter. The light coat of snow from the night before last was gone before noontime yesterday. The temps have been alternating between 40 and 75 for the high, and between 10 and 35 for the low. Seems like spring to me! I'm doing great (healthwise and mentally) - still walking to work just about every day. I really love it here!

yesterday, after the fog lifted (around noon) (and no, i am not referring to any fog in my head and neither should you be) but after the fog outside lifted the weather was pretty interesting...warm, with alternating splashes of rain and bursts of sunshine...anyhow, i managed to stop by here to have a very late lunch
http://www.berwyncafe.net/
i know i know...that's crazy talk!! but anyhow it was fun to eat there again. conversation there was like a random familiar (but nothing i would expect?) dialogue with strangers??
(though i have to admit, once the food arrived you didn't hear much out of me) you understand

i am glad to hear you are doing well wyld (which pretty much goes without say...i know...but it still goes...even without say!)
