If memory (Ha!) serves me, '74 was the Texas Motor Speedway picnic--the second and very-best-ever of Willie's picnics (though Dripping Springs was great in a different way, too). It kind of went downhill (PTP) after Liberty Hill, which I think was '75. But '74--ahh--three days of too much beer and pot and heat and sun, but never too much music. I worked that one, handing out salt pills and water and getting the passed-out to the medical tent. It got me a backstage pass for the last night. There's nothing like a bunch of smelly, drunk, stoned, and very happy freaks and cowboys after three days, belting out "I wanna go home to the Armadillo..." Pure heaven. (At least it was when we were 24.) Thanks for the flashback!

Edited 'cause memory comes in starts and fits these days.

I was told that I had a memory once, but I sure don't remember having one.

as i walked the UK Clan through SOHO recently they asked me why the dirty dingy part of NYC was called SOHO as in London the area with that label is now so Posh! I laughed and told them SOHO means south of "How Ston" Street. If you want Posh, you have to go North of How Ston into Green Witch Village. THat is where the price of beer is truly ridiculous and all the trendy fashions can be found!

speaking of trendy fashions, when is the bizarre tatoo fetish goin' to end? It is just amazing to me what people do to their bodies? Oh sidetracked again!

of course being Brit's they wanted to see CBGB's...I didn't know where it had been...

For better or worse, I'm past the age of worrying about whether or not questions I ask might be considered stupid, so what is CBGB's?
I don't understand the tatoo thing either, and especially piercings through noses, tongues, eyelids and private parts. YUK and OUCH!

All those piercings are a real hassle for jailers too. I was a jailer at my county jail for 6 years and during intake you have to make the women remove all jewelry, including items from piercings. I often heard, "That was expensive! I just had it done, it will grow up!" Standard reply, "maybe you should have used that money to pay your fines!"
