Being the new kid on the block
I'm delighted to be on the train at all,
but I do have one teeny question...
will we now be allowed to have 'signatures'?

Smooth Blue is very attractive
(we could call it One Blue Sky)
but, oh, Settlers and Pearl and Starcraft
are SOOOO easy for these old eyes to read!
Contrast is important!

Also....
I sure like being allowed to have 'signatures'.

I don't know how much say Im allowed to have in here since Im new to the forums but I kinda like the new forums. the way I looked at it quickly I think it will be easier to post pictures and I beleive we can even have a picture in our signitature however they may have to be limited as people with dial up will have a hard time opening posts.
change can be a good thing sometimes so I say go for it

Signatures will not be allowed. This is a decision I made way back... Basically, in my opinion, it gets repetitive seeing the same signature over and over again and just kinda clutters things up a bit I think - especially if a person's signature includes a picture. So, although both this forum and the new software both support that option - I have no plans of enabling it.

I have yet to make a final decision on the posting of pictures or attachments.

Will you be sharing the launch codes with we administrators and moderators, or keeping them to yourself? ( As if I didn't already know!) :)

I did not know that siggys weren't allowed thanks for clearing that up.
I also have to apoplogize for posting pictures on the site not knowing if they were allowed or not. Please forgive me

I think that if you can do it (a signature, posting pics), it's allowed here, but it may not be on the new forums. That's probably (I'm guessing) a matter of bandwidth as well as other issues. If you're not attacking others or annoying them to the extreme here, whatever else you're doing is probably OK.

For my poor eyesight the reading is better, although it is a bit bright. I'd like a bit more "hippie" into it, like e.g changing the "Arlonet Forums" headline and making the letters look more round, flowery  not so stiff.
I'm lacking adjectives. I like the posters for the Arlo tours, kind in that way.

Wizard, unless I am just missing it, there is not a link to Blunderchat on the new forums page.

No, there isn't... that is something that I will have to add as I did before. Does anyone even use the chat anymore?

I am quite new but I'll put my two cents in anyway.
I think the new system looks good and most of these forum board formats are easy to use. :)

Yes, we use the Chat (Blat); not as much as we used to, but some of us meet there occasionally.

Just to clear things up - comments from you new folks are just as important (maybe if not more) than those who have been around for years. What might seem like a big deal to someone new might not be as big an issue for someone who has been around a while and gotten used to the way things work. And it's always been a goal to make ArloNet as accessable and easy to use no matter what computer, internet connection, etc you are using.

WHEW!! That's good to know, because I'm just barely computer literate as it is. I haven't had much difficulty with this site so far, except when it involves anything harder than typing and submitting a post. Any Blunderite tutors out there? Who's in charge of the brain cell today?
