I've been checking out the new forums and they look great. I just have one question--they're very wide (at least on my monitor) and I have to keep scrolling back and forth to read everything. Is there any way to change this?

What is your screen resolution set at?

800 x 600. What should it be? I'm proud of myself for even figuring out where to look to find that out!

It's designed for 1024 x 768. I could possibly size it down to work with 800 x 600 though.

Could you, please, Dave? I tried changing the pixel size to 1024 x 768, and it all fit without scrolling then, but I could hardly read anything. The print was very tiny!

Judy,

As a quick fix until I get a chance, I think you could set your resolution to 1024 x 768 and then just increase your font size... although I'm not sure how to tell you how to do that. Depends on the OS & browser. Maybe someone else could say?

I tried changing the font to "Extra Large", but the type was still really small. :(

I like this new look a lot. I take it it is not completely done. I haven't been able to sign into a different forum, unless it was emailed to me.

Just a small detail : it's not the same time when I'm registered and when I'm not ( one hour ahead) :?:

I have the same problem, Judy. Also need 800x600 and the font changed to extra large to be able to read. It would be great if Dave could change it so we don't have to scroll.

Oh grand Wizard - I have a very large flat screen monitor, but I cannot get the whole (this area) on the screen at one time. So I can't see the topics on the left, and the date of the most recent post on the right at the same time. I also can't read the whole thing with out flipping left right, left right. Any suggestions? Its really annoying.

As far as the rest of it - Im banking on its a work in progress and hoping this isnt "it".

But I do HATE the way this looks:

Reg,

Again... what is your screen resolution?

What don't you like about the look?

How do I find out what my screen resolution is.

Don't worry about me not liking it - I dont do any of the work, so I dont get a voice. But if your asking for feedback - to me it looks old. Not crisp or sharp, not inviting.

Reg.

Screen resolution is in the same place where you set your screen saver and background image - where that is depends on what version of Windows you are using. But basically there should be a tab in there called "Settings" where it will show your screen resolution and allow you to change it. Try changing it to 1024 x 768 if it's lower and see if you can live with it there and let me know. Or how about 800 x 600 - I know you will have to scroll a little... but I think I can work on that.

I'm unsure about the not crisp sharp or inviting part... is there a particular part of the design? Is it the header graphic, the background, the colors? I am looking for feedback... but in order to see about getting a good balance for everyone - I need details. If this was YOUR site, what specifically would you change about these forums>
