I found a video clip of a game show from 1972 called Split Second with host Tom Kennedy. Right at the eight minute mark of the clip, there is a category puzzle titled folk singers. Check it out!

That was great! Thanks for posting it!

I imagine that's how his name would come out if I were a drinkin' woman!

Gosh seeing the cars they could win was also worth it. I married a Pontiac man! (even though I'm a Chevy girl myself) I have owned 4 cars in my 40 someodd years. I can't count how many my hubby had owned by the time he was 18-20 range! LOL Two of the 4 cars of mine are still at my Mom's house, both Cameros a '74 & '84 (no...not on blocks..heh)

but I digress... 8) (don't I always? :D )

That was neat seeing him mention on that. I don't remember that game show tho. That sounds like a neat Camero. I love antique cars...

Split Second was on ABC in the late morning back in the early '70s whenever I had school vacation from Kindergarden. I loved that game show so much! The reason I loved that game show was not only for the trivia and cars, I had a crush on Tom Kennedy when I was five years old at the time :o

Tom was also an MC on Name That Tune, Body Language, Password Plus, You Don't Say, Whew!, Price Is Right(nighttime version in the eighties), Wordplay, Break the Bank. Do these titles strike a chord to you Cheryl? Oh no Arlo these are not song titles in case you are wondering

I always got him confused with Wink Martindale.

I liked Bob Eubanks. Did you know he was also a cowboy? Prolly not the same Cowboy Bob that Dennis The Menace always loved, but ya never know! :D

Oh yeah, I remember most of those & Wink Martindale. I think Wink is in some commercial for some kinda thing for a cheap travel rates business or something. Anyway he's acting like a game show host in it. I think in the ad you had to choose the right deal or something. I saw him on some show on one of the Christian channles awhile back & he was doing fine. They had some good game shows back then... :)

Weird story for me about Wink.

I was watching TV a while back and heard a news report that Wink & his wife were killed in a plane crash. I was sad about it. Then the Orbits commercials started and I just figured it was a contract thing and they had to run them. (I thought it was in bad taste)

When new ones started coming out, I did some research and saw he hadn't been killed.
It was Peter Tomarkin & his wife. He was the host of "Press Your Luck"

Just another lesson in not believing everything that comes outta that big box.

Some folks tell me that they don't like game shows, but when you think about it, they are just another metaphor for our lives in this unpredictable world, where we all "press our luck" everyday.....

That's happened to me with other celebrities. I think I've heard a certain celebrity dies & it turns out they're alive thankfully but sadly it was someone else that passed on...

Anyone ever notice the resemblance between Peter Tomarkin and Guy Smiley?
