Does that mean the Folkslinger needs to get a food taster for the upcoming tour?

Any takers?

Thanks DRR...I was really lucky. Early detection, not advanced at all. Plus, I'm in pretty good health overall. But I know how lucky I am because I have known many many people who have not been so fortunate with this disease.

It hasn't been an easy path, but I don't have the exclusive on that. Plus, I've learned a lot and met some really incredible people. And that's good enough for me.

:D

Hey Len, that might not be a bad gig, for a time. What a way to go.

I fear for this guy! I'm afraid his union might call him onto the carpet and read him the riot act for making the rest of them look bad!
A few years back, a new young school teacher that is the son of a friend of mine got called on the carpet by the union for staying after school and giving extra help to some of his elementary school students...... and in turn, making the rest of them look bad. They told him not to do it anymore. To his credit, this young guy went on to become a prinicple in his late 20's and now in his 30's is a superintendant. Sometimes the good guys win.

I dunno, Doug. There is only so much granola one can sample before the urge to roll downhill to Santa Barbara overcomes.

Do you think it will be Abe in the library with the hairbrush?

In the past few months, it's become more obvious that most of the Republican legislators are using the health care bill (among other issues) as a political weapon against Obama and the Democrats at the expense of the US public's health, both physical and financial. Two of the Republicans on the bi-partisan committee to draft a health care bill have pretty much made it clear that they don't want one. Sen. Chuck Grassley (Rep. Iowa) has started fundraising against health care reform, what he calls "Obama care". Another on the committee, Sen. Mike Enzi (Rep. Wyoming), is still pushing the fictitious "death panel" ploy. As Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said recently in an interview, "...you talk about death panels, 18,000 people a year die because they don't get access to a doctor when they should."

The Republican legislative body, as a whole, has pretty much made it clear to any one with half a brain that they're more concerned with the health of that political body than the people's. You'd think that, after eight years of a Republican administration and Republican run Congress that led us to most of the problems that we're facing today, we would have, as a people, wised up. But, it seems to me, that the party has become more focused on getting back their foothold on power than on meaningful legislation. And we just keep letting them.

That the Republican Party has renounced any pretense to being the honorable opposition is becoming clearer each day, Captain. As I've said before, the only time I've seen tactics this disgusting was in Alabama in the 1960s. Note that without the help of Rupert Murdoch, it wouldn't work. The FCC should be petitioned to review the licensing of Fox and MSNBC.

BTW: for anyone interested in how H1N1 (aka, swine flu) works, this is a good read. It compares it to computer program architectures so it may be a bit heady.

it is okay (no object at all) when the spending is for war

but for healthcare...that is outrageous!

(wish we hoo-mons could get our heads out of our asses!)

I have hope aqnd faith that this administration has the wisdom to see to it that true reform comes to healthcare now.

It won't come easy, as the naysayers are mostly loud, but truly in the minority.

What is most sad to me are the parrots squaking against their best interests. (Again)

"Brawk... socialism, brawk... we can't afford this now, brawk... don't give Barack an inch, he'll ruin America."

I hope they can get it done, but it does appear the Dems will have to man up and go it alone using the majorities we gave them for this purpose. That will be tough here because we elected guys like Parker Griffith who ran as Democrats, were elected as Democrats but are in reality closet Republicans. He came to the town meetings to reassure everyone he is against health care reform. Then we have Richard Shelby, the most bought Senator we've ever sent to Congress. The CEO of the last company I worked for bragged about it.

It's sad to watch but the party of Lincoln is becoming irrelevant.
