I have visited the website ( using Internet Explorer 8 ) with both the Enterprise Edition of McAfee Virus Scanner fully enabled, and also tested it with AVG Free Edition 9.0 running under Windows XP SP3 with all updates/patches installed (running on Parallels Dekstop on a Mac). Neither reported any trojans or viruses when visiting the site.

If you are getting a report of one from your virus scanner and are using either of the above, my best guess is your computer may be infected. If you know how... boot into Safe Mode, and run a FULL scan of your computer. If you don't know how to boot to safe mode, still try running a FULL scan of your computer (be sure your AV software is fully updated). You may also want to try removing all temporary files / IE cache files as you may be pulling a cached file from when the website was actually infected.

If you still encounter problems - please contact me directly and provide as much information as you can regarding the issue.

After my email to you last night, I went back to the site and got no alerts at all... Same with today. I even went on today using Firefox and Chrome... Nothing.

I dunno... I guess I'll just scan and see what, if anything, comes up.

OK...I did the scan in safe mode with AVG 9, fully updated... Just got a few tracking cookies. I guess it was just a 24 hour virus.

Have you checked for rootkits as well?

No... I usually go with Stinger before virus scan... But I didn't this time. I'll do it over the weekend and report back.

Safemode scan with fresh download of Stinger found nothing... This PC is clean.

Still no more alerts.

I haven't been here for about a week because I was getting a virus warning from AVG every time I clicked the forums button. I use firefox, windoze xp, and zone alarm too. I emailed you about it a few days ago Dave. No warnings now.

Well I have ventured forth and it seems that where ever the darn trojan was residing seems to be gone. Not sure how or where but after performing multiple scans on both of my computers the bugger seems to be gone. I will say that each time it was found to be in the temporary internet folder. The only other thing that I did do is make the recommended fixes to my registery that Symantic had posted and since then all is well.

i'm sorry but everytime i pass by this thread, all i can think of is to check the dates on the package... i've never had a problem with a trojan before, but ya' can't be too careful!

Having them around so long that they outlast their expiration date is kinda sad, don'tcha think?

It's expiration was too good to be true... Starting last night my AVG blocked another threat... An exploit java script this time.

So far it's only happened with IE... When I use FF or Chrome, I get no threat alert.
