Hmmmmm? Playing tunes on the harmonica about luggage huh? It would seem that gators have a respect for music, unlike them GIANT CLAMS who just plain hate it. Of course it's not clear that gators love or hate it, but respect works well enough. I gotta remember to bring a harp and learn some luggage tunes the next time I'm in gator country.

I don't suppose the police found someone's name on an envelope under the..........wait a minute, with the mailbox gone, there's nothing to find an envelope under  Well, they must have gotten some plaster tire prints, footprints, or even dog-smellin' prints........How about the aerial photography :? No, really, there are some sick people out there :( I hope it finds it's way home :!:

More work for Officer Obie's replacement I guess. So sorry to hear about it. Hope they find it soon. Unusual mailboxes seem to be a target for some reason. Back in the 60's and 70's my folks had an antique mailbox that dated to like the 1800's or something that my dad had fixed up to look like a mail truck. Some idiot bashed the thing in. Wishing the Guthrie Center well...

It'll probably turn up on ebay pretty soon. Either that, or the folkslinger will be getting a ransom note for it , addressed "Hey, Kid"!

Isn't it a federal crime to tamper with a mailbox??

Our mail box was blown up ...twice. Expelled CO2 cartridges filled with gunpowder and lit with a fuse. I guess that's what happens when you live out in the woods (population 1435) and kids got nothing better to do. We have a PO Box now. They'll have to blow up the post office if they want to do it again!

You are correct Sue. A mailbox is considered to be US Postal Service property by the law - same as if you picked up a USPS collection box or tampered with an office's PO box. Federal crime I believe.
