I went to see the show last night with my brother Dave and his wife Faye. This is maybe the 5th time we've seen Arlo here in the Phoenix area in the past 20 years, and as usual, it was an evening filled with humor as well as music. I guess there's not much left that hasn't been said about what a great show Arlo puts on. I've enjoyed every single one of them. Arlo is on my very short list of performers I'll go see anymore. In fact, there's only one other name on the list: John Prine.

It was great to see the 3 generations on stage, including the littlest kids. What a beautiful talented bunch of people they are. I kept thinking how proud Woody would be of all of them, and what a great job they are doing of carrying on and reinventing his legacy. As long as Guthries sing and tell stories, there is hope that the mean people of this country haven't ruined everything.

I don't know if I could imagine, or would want to live in a world where Guthries didn't sing and tell stories......
