I have found what I think is a fairly decent photo gallery add-on for the forums. You will find a link to it at the top of the forums right next to the "Chat" button. Right now I'm still playing with things, but would like others to give it a try as well and provide feedback.

Are there any features missing that you'd like to see? Does something appear out of place?

The more detailed your feedback - the better I can make it with any luck. Or maybe we just scrap the idea?

I do like the fact that it integrates well with the forums - which makes managing it a lot easier. So, go ahead and give it a try and post any feedback here.

Just curious, what ever happened to all the photos we had in the 'old' forums/galleries? And the gallery after that one?

I would like to see you get one that re-sizes the pictures. I was on a small forum with a similar gallery and it re-sized the pics.

Pretty neat! This should be really nice. I think it'd be neat if there was a feature that let you know when new stuff was added to it. THat way you don't miss anything...

Arnie... The original gallery was custom written software by me that integrated with UBB (the forum software we were using way back then). It's long been outdated - but I am working on rescuing what I can from it. I have the "Fan Artwork" section now up. This will take time. After that I moved to the Coppermine gallery which kind of integrated with phpBB - but it was riddled with security holes and got hacked and lost most everything.

Goofus - I just added that feature... Click on a thumbnail and the image appears resized to your screen settings. This was actually a plugin to the software, I just had to activate it.

Cheryl - That feature is already built in. You can see when new images are added just like on the forums. Also, in each album near the top you will see a link for "Subscribe Album" - click it and you will be notified by e-mail whenever new pictures are added. This will likely move once I get the Gallery style more in line with the rest of the forums.

My personal preference is I really like this new gallery. It integrates almost flawlessly with the forums (no need to re-register or anything) - and it's been in continual development for years and seems quite well supported. Also, it makes moderation easy as well so we don't end up with a bunch of porn or advertisements.
