Ah,this secret location is obvious to riders on the Metro North Hudson Division who venture further north than Peekskill from NYC and further south than Coldspring from Poughkeepsie. It is in full view of the grey imposing bastions of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. and only about 700 meters east/southeast the West Point Dock.

The next gathering of the clan won't be untill the first Thursday after the full moon in August and hopefully the weather will be better then.

But if be road directions you'll be needing to find the place I'll try to make the directions simple. From the Bear Mountain Bridge follow route 9D north to NY403 make a left at the traffic light and go down hill from there. As for Parking well you can park in the Metro North lot or try to get infront of the store (Usually there are 2 chances, slim & none) by following the road up and over the tracks and around to the end of the road. Parking by the waterside is reserved for the Yatch Club members and spaces are limited for visitors. From the North from the Metropolis of Beacon follow 9D south to 403 and make a right then follow the directions as above.

As for needing people to participate or just enjoy the show bring the implement of destruction of your choice,Banjo , Frame Drum, Guitar, Button Accordian, Harp, etc and come on along. You might even meet a flying singing motorcyclist.

Cheers,
Q

None of us here are really new, or have ever been new to the group w bench. We have always been sittin' on it, we just may have not been aware of it's alphabetical designation. But now you know! :)

"Weirdos" comes to my mind. 8) Having been an army attachment for a while I guess for them "waste material" would be closer to their thinking. :)

Well the second full moon of August is upon us and the second Irish night of the month will be as well.

Thursday the 30th it shall be, and me scheduled for a shift at work that night too, well every Thursday night actually untill I retire.

Hmmm a trip to Great Barrington may need to be scheduled befor the weather closes in. Lets see, portable cot? check, blankets? check, reason to call in sick to work? check. 8)

Prosit Alles!

OK I've been away for quite a while and life goes on. 2011 finds me on the Southern Coast of the USA, not too far from a city that should be a swamp but for demands of governmental excesses from the population of the below sea level site.

2008 saw me going into full on Nomadic Mode through 09, 10 and most of 2011 bouncing between the likes of Lake placid, NY; Key West, FL; Gulfport, MS; Vienna, VA and many points inbetween. Hopefully 2012 will see me moving around a bit less often and without the driven sense of urgency the previous years have had. And hopefully without the emotional Highs & Lows I've experienced as well.

Cheers everyone and be safe.

Hi.

I'm new, too. This looks like the category to do intros. You sail boats. I design them and hope to build a new type of boat, tougher to capsize.

Anyway. Hello.

Woah woah woah! I had serious issues with the latter Bush (although I liked to play it up just to get under some folks skin). But I've never claimed either Bush to be all that great. I consider myself to be a moderate conservative or a centrist. If there were any president I admired, it would have been Reagan. Granted, he wasn't perfect either - but it was more in line with my view of politics and the office of President. I do work as a civilian in the DOD (Navy) and am proud of the work that I do within the government and my little part of serving this country - however, I would never compare it to the fine folks who do and have served on the front lines and in our various branches of the military. To all those people, thank you so much for your service.

I just think that I appear to be a hard core right wing fundamentalist Christian to many here just because it seems those who are on the left here are FAR FAR to the left of center, to the point that a conservative appears to be so completely opposite. As for the fundamentalist Christian stance, I make no apologies on that front whatsoever.

Anyway, welcome to the site, hope you stay a while, enjoy yourself, and live long and prosper! :)

Peace out...
