ONE OF THE BIGGEST

One of the biggest problems with them
(aren't there quite many?)
is that they don't ever take anything personal,
just except offence.

**

SINGING OF LOVE IN SAN FRANCISCO

There is a place
where they all wear flowers in their hair,
where they all sing of love,
where they all are kind,
bright,
gentle
and compassionate.

Tell me then
if there comes a person
who screams,
how very soon
they will shoot him?

**

THE WISEST DECREE OF THE SHERIFF

Beware of posting off-topic.
If you don't apply to that,
then if you post a poem
in a place where it doesn't belong,
and after five minutes you check
if there are any comments -
you will not find the poem.
Tic! and it went.
So, you ask
why the poem has been deleted.
Tic! and your question
vanished too.
Then you say: please, don't delete my poems.
Tic! your plead deleted.
So you strive your mind
and write something reasonable,
why poetry should not be deleted in general,
Tic!
So you write something angry,
Tic!
So you write something more,
you don't know what yourself.
Tic.
No, that's not so.
You should not get angry.
You should not plead.
You should not ask.
No matter. It's always
Tic!
Tic!
Tic!

I don't get it, do they think
that if people just ran about,
writing poetry everywhere,
the order of creation would break
and the whole world would collapse or something?
I guess they just don't know,
so they shoot.
In fact, I don’t know either.
So I write poetry.

Then, this sad conclusion
comes into my mind,
that in the world
there are places where poetry is welcome,
and places where it is not.

Looking from such perspective,
I am really not sure,
which one is the worse.

It is the way of the world.
As such, I must accept it,
whether I like it or not.

I just regret
it happened to me
at your place, Arlo.

So, Arlo,
you are the Sheriff here.
Would not you consider
issuing some decree?

It would look, for example,
like this:

"In this saloon
you don't shoot at poetry.
(Even in the kitchen).

1. I forgot to write "anything". It should be of course "take anything personal".

2. Darn I again forgot to tick the email notification of replies.

THE AGREEMENT

They are very nice.
They smile.
They give you the agreement they wrote,
you must just sign it
right here.
The agreement seems fair,
well, it seems just wonderful!

You will do whatever you like.
We will just draw borders.

You can do everything.
Here - you can step on the grass.
There - you can laugh.
And there - you can sing.
Over there - you can eat.
There - you can create.
In this place, you can work.
In that place, you can live.
Right here, you can love.
And in that place far away, you can cry.
And here, just look here,
here you can even be yourself.

Do anything what you want, our friend.
Just please don't do one thing -
please don't cross the borders.

Because if you do,
we will kill you.

Where does death come from?
---
In the beginning, there is your Mother.
She tells you to clean the floor.
The floor must be cleaned, because
people living in clean flats
are happier.
So you do it.
It's ok.
But then, she just happens
to think, perhaps she should check out
if the floor has been cleaned well,
in all the corners, under the table and each chair.
So she checks it out and she finds
it has not been done well.
She tells you to brush again,
in every place you forgot.
You do it.
But then, she
checks out again,
and she
gets angry,
because she has just found
more places you forgotten.
It happens so every time.
And then
the Policeman appears.
He stands in the door
and watches you,
watches you if you brush in every place.
But you just can't.
There are too many of them.
The world is so big.
The Policeman does not understand it.
He gets angrier and angrier.
So you try,
you try so much,
you try to calm him,
you tell him that
brushing floors is not that important,
and he should better sing and jump,
and listen to Jesus.
This is the moment when the Doctor appears.
He tells you to take the pills.
But you don't want the pills.
They make you sleep
just when you want
to write a beautiful poem,
everyday.
You think that
Jesus is much more helping
and beautiful
and tasty
than the pills.
So the Doctor
keeps catching you
more and more often
when you write at night,
so he finally understands
that you are not taking the pills.
And then realizes that
he probably
can help you no more,
he loses his hope,
so he calls for
the Executioner,
who really
cannot think
of other way
to help you
than

BE KIND

How's that?
When I meet someone
who is not kind,
but perhaps just speaking kind language,
and I tell him
that he is not kind,
to make him see
that he is not kind,
so he would
become kind,
because being kind
is a much better way
for himself
and for the world,
the stars
and God -
then
he does not
become kind,
but he
takes offense,
and is even
more unkind
and speaking with irony.

Sometimes I wonder:
perhaps I should not tell him
that he is unkind?
That I do not notice
his insensibility,
his ignorance,
his obnoxiousness?

That I see only
his good intentions,
good heart
and soul?

Perhaps then
he will become kind?

No way, I think then.
That would not be kind of me.
I just would have him off my back.
As soon as he can
he will be on somebody else's.

So I'll better tell him the truth.
Then I will have him
on his own back.

So, as you see, I just have noticed the "edit" button. I have trouble spotting buttons. There are too many of them, really. And many of them are very small. And when you press one, another one appears and so on. If I was a programmer, I would create an operating system, and name it "Heartsoft Open Doors". It would have just only one button: "Love me". I personally admit, that I would want to press it again and again...

The reason of my behavior:
When I create poetry, and I give it to people, to the world, to God, because it is my gift - is it that strange to get, that when someone comes to mock and curse, I want him to go away? That when he comes with his priority to look for offense first, then later for value and understanding, I want him to leave?

you seem way to defensive about your poems, I have posted personal stuff here in the past, and I don't believe any of these people on the bench would mock or curse anyone who tries to honestly express their feelings. Just not the group here!

There was your mocking (not much of that, I admit, in fact I don't feel it was anything bad or unkind of you, it just disturbed me a liitle, and I was not in mood for that, I asked you, I think nicely and reasonably, to leave, and you did, and I appreciate that. Then the cliffsomething came and spoke of bull shit and that was cursing, anyhow I don't feel that bad about his bull shit as it had not any meaning, I rather looked at the why bother, because he asked a question that he did not understand, while he does understand bullshit. Ignorance is what angers me most - it means things out of their place. Anyhow, you all made me angry, each in his or her personal way, and because of this a few quite decent poems have been created, not to mention I am saving this whole thread as a poem to be published (: . So I am glad and you should not mind, in the name of poetry which we all like in our personal ways, just please don't mind me that if a very ignorant person comes bringing bull shit where i recite poetry, I will get angry at him. Anger, pointed in the righ direction - and the right way - can do much good. Personally I think all poetry comes from it. In a way, of course.

And don't say "Just not the group here!" Never ever say that. Anywhere.

A boy who ran into the street
(The dangers arising from possession)
----
Do you realize that something might have hit you?
You might have been wounded!
In fact, very badly wounded!
You might have had your hand broken,
or both of them,
and both your legs!
You could have had your spine damaged,
and your skull fractured!
God, you might even have killed yourself! - he said,
giving his son
the last blow with his crowbar.

Show me someone extremely touchy, and I will show you a human being.

Show me someone a way too touchy, and I will show you a poet.

well sometimes you just shrug it off and let it go, especially if you put your emotions out for all to see. I like Cliff and I don't think he was mocking you or your poems as much as your attitude. I won't be back here. bye bye

Not mocking but cursing, cliff. His mocking had no point, so no mocking there. When someone angers me, I toss a poem at him. When someone angers Cliff, he tosses curses.

Wait please. Don't do the same mistake once again. One mistake is nothing. But if you don't learn and repeat tt again, it gets bad. "Not to know" and "not to learn" - they are the very opposite. I mean: why leave, when you said something reasonable, just began showing yourself as a thinking person? I hope I did not offend you. Those your words before, were not that wise, but that is all - You did not say anything wise, but you did not say anything stupid either. It was not this way with Cliff. So please stay, if you want. Perhaps you will be the first to say something of my poetry, at last? (:

The Haves

Beware, brother, because if you hire someone
just to brush your floor, then she will
just brush your floor.
No matter what happens,
whoever enters, whatever he wants, whatever he asks her to,
she will just brush your floor
even it meant
to kill you.

Don't you ever give yourself to anyone, sister.
Just except if you are yourself
and it is of yourself to give yourself.
But beware, because if you give yourself
to someone who is not himself,
he will take you.
