Sometimes I think that I know what loves all about
And when I see the light I know I'll be allright
I've got my friends in the world
I had that friends when we we're boys and girls
And the secrets came unfurled

City of brotherly love please not go home
Don't turn your back on me, I don't want to be alone
Someone is talkin to me, callin my name
Tell me I'm not to blame
I won't be ashamed of love

*NEIL

A 57 Chevy with a 283
white side wall tires
three on the tree
Black like a mirror
seats whiter than snow
an american dream
with no where to go

his dawn it came fast in a passing age
now in a sunset of long past days
the dope of the day came in a can
drinking beer till, liver turned tan
never asking questions about love life or war
only trying to find a girl
lets call her LaNore

Got me a friend
Who lives in a car
Who'd do anything for me
Who's a falling star

My door's wide open
For all to see
Come on in
Get lost with me

Too many angels
with ripped torn wings
I can fix them you know
On my sewing machine

My friend is around
Most of the time
Me and my friend
will fix wings for a dime.

If you don't have a dime
a smile will do
a small one at that
and your wings are like new

My friend is tattered
and I am insane
But that doesn't matter
In the wing fixing game.

Okay I posted this once and chickened out and removed it ,but I think I will let it stay this time:

As our lives intertwine
There are things we must decline

Maybe parts we called ourselves
Possibly others we have hidden on shelves

But as we get rid of these things
We create our own wings

Never despair or feel we have been unfair
For that which we share Is ours to share

We cannot give that which is not our own
Nor shall we hide that which has grown

So rest your weary head
And enjoy the path we must tread

Has the day come when every ray of sun ,
cast away the bitter dark night ...
Im running kinda fast .. hope that I last
the grape of the morning, a cup of the past

No need in keeping score more than before
comes your treasure parting with the sea
quiet are the words ,now they are heard
An ocean awoken...
before all is spoken
every grain of sand
stars in your hand

happy be your days ..
gone are the ways ..
a memory that made you what you are
if there was another way..
I would surley make a case ..
as the fire in the furnace
makes the steel strong
and true

Sawdust & sewing machines, lost love & future dreams. My empty heart finds paths of care in reading the posts from those who dare.
To let all know I peek in time to time, refresh my soul & give thanks for the lines. And remembering folks like beads on a string, united with hope, gives strength to my dreams. Image

It's beeen almost two score Septembers
since last we climbed up Freestone Hill
vinyards bright, sky golden embers
treasured memories linger still

we talked of dreams, we laughed at blunders
of friends & lovers 'long the way
of life, like football over/unders
as sunset lit Bodega Bay

(credit to Joan Baez's " Reunion Hill" for melody & pace)
