I sent that weirdness that came out on light to a friend, I recieved a comment about what the light was, here was my reply:

I have a lot in me on the light and what it is but I thought of this song by Willis Alan to give you an idea, this song defines the light by the dark you stick it in I suppose (Arlo philosophy):

Searchin’ for the sunlight on this winter stay
Here in old Missoula they throwed the sun away.
Come the morrow mornin’ I’m headed for the Bozeman round
And it’s goodbye to old Missoula, sleepy town.

I met a girl named Rosy, sweet as she could be
But I guess that Rosy, she didn’t have eyes for me.
Time, it waits for no one; Lord why did I hesitate?
And it’s goodbye to old Missoula a day too late.

Clouds that hang on the mountains
They make me lonesome inside
And these four walls that surround me
They leave me no place to hide.

Goodbye, Rosy; you’ll never know, and time says my love will pass
But if I can just remember your smilin’ face, that’s all of time that I ask.
The show in this town is over, or maybe it just never began
And it’s goodbye to old Missoula; I’ve done all that I can
And it’s goodbye to old Missoula
Goodbye to old Missoula
Goodbye to old Missoula, sleepy town

If you couldn't tell, my head lives in songs and words, these are by Woody Guthrie, some of my favorite he wrote:

One by one the teardrops fall as I write to you
One by one my words come falling on the page
One by one my dreams are fading in the twilight
One by one my schemes are failing fast away

One by one the flowers fade here in my garden
One by one the leaves are falling from the trees
One by one my hopes are vanished in the clouds dear
One by one like snowflakes melting in the breeze

One by one my hair is turning grey
One by one my dreams are fading fast away
One by one I ready your letters over
One by one I lay them all away

One by one the days are slipping up behind you
One by one the sweetest days of life go by
One by one the moments stealing up behind you
One by one she’ll come and find not you or i

One by one I hear the soft words that you whispered
One by one I feel your kisses soft and sweet
One by one I hope you’ll say the words to marry
One by one to one by one forever be

AHHHHHHHHHH Missoula........my great grandpa Alexander and great grandma Linne Ann had a ranch near Missoula in the early 1900's, they grew alfalfa and horses. They had both been children on the Oregon Trail.

Great songs PSB! Now I'm gonna cry......

I'm an expert on growing horses. You feed them money (in the form of hay and oats), and they reward you by making "deposits" in your pastures which you then go out and pick up. All the while, they keep growing to keep the cycle going and to keep people like me "horse-poor" and with bad backs!

I see Mikey. So you kinda fertilize them with cabbage, and in return they furnish you with more fertilizer and less cabbage then?
How far apart do you need to plant the rows?
If you plant horseflies, could you grow a Pegasus? What if you planted horses asses, would you grow a president? What if you planted zebras, would you get a sports referee? So many questions, so few spare brain cells.........

Is the NORTH END ZONE the front half or the back half?

Larry, I did plant some horse's asses back a few years ago, and I got the governor of Florida and the legislature. I think to get a president, you need tons of bullshit to spread on the crop.

Sorry Wyld, the front half and the back half run east and west, not north and south.

Mikey, you gotta stop gardening!

Hey Mikey! That's why I changed to chooks!! I grew and showed horses for many years (Appaloosas) and picked up deposits from the back for my garden, while feeding money in the front, (as well as gas money, vet money, show entry fee money etc. etc.)
So now I only have my mare who keeps the paddock mowed and also lives in the neighbours' paddock so he picks up the deposits for his garden!
So, my BlunderChooks live in their dome and I move it around and they do ALL the weeding, and fertilizing, then spread the mulch. They stay on that spot for a couple of months and I feed 'em on scraps from the kitchen, a little dry grain and some fresh grain that sprouts after I move 'em off a bed. I move 'em to the next bed which has finished producing(I have five growing vegies and one with the dome on it) and they start all over again. Then I just make a little hole through the mulch into the chook claw tilled and chook butt fertilized bed and plant my vegie seedlings then sit back and watch 'em grow !!!! Plus I get 3 eggs a day!!

Speaking of Chooks and meanwhile back at the Ranch..... My grandma Edna Clayrene (daughter of Alexander and Linnie Ann) and grandpa Oscar (he is the Norwegen part of my family Larry)stayed on the ranch (remember the ranch from a few posts back?) in Montana for awhile after they were married, then moved back to Silverton, Ore. where grampa Oscar came from and my dad was born.
Anyway, very early one day, when all the others had gone off to get supplies (in Missoula I assume)my grandma decided she would have a go at making the bread. So she mixed all the fixins, then set it aside to rise. Well she waited and waited and nothing was happening and she started to panic! "Landsake!" she thought,"I'm gonna catch it from Mother and Dad for wasting all that flour and stuff, with no fresh loaves to show for it !!"
So she came up with an idea as to how to cover up her failure.
"I know, I'll feed all that dough to the chickens and there will be no evidence of my failure and waste!"
So off she went to the coop and fed the dough to the chickens.
As the day progressed the sun got higher in the sky and warmer, need I say more????
If you lived on a ranch in Montana in the early 1900's far from a mercantile and mostly self sufficient, what would you rather loose, a little flour and yeast or your whole flock of chickens!!!!!!

Louise, sounds like they wound up with instant chook pot pies! Must not have been very pleasant for the chooks, though.

I thought you were supposed to put the dough on the OUTSIDE of the chicken when you make pot pies?

Hideous Poem #1

My mind, it dreams
Of Claude Monet or Vincent Van Gogh
Smearing on their color
To make a little dough
Time itself in fast reflection
As a brilliant mix of tones
Dried veneer of lost perception
Splitting light to sooth the soul
Pigments left in hard suspension
Give us the world they did know

Instead inside I find
A mind muddled in Edgar Poe
Spreading inks black omens
Which reside in my minds’ hold
Brains of flawed perception
Mixed in hideous goo
A pallet without redemption
Tries to sort these things I knew
Chicken scratch of the mind
And now I share these fears with you

But the ink just keeps on flowing though
No matter what gets in the way?
Or which way the brain does blow
And as long as it does
I just sit here patiently and
Watch the river flow

But, I know of a place where the horses all have wings!
