the departure wasn't the problem for the donner party... they left WAY far from donner pass. which was part of the problem.

is new jersey on its way from pa to mass? i mean... i guess it COULD be... but...

is that the moose route? east... north... east?

I-95... by Philly... it IS the Jersey Turnpike...

(Not sure if it's still in their plans, but I think they were gonna go for a stop in Manhattan on the way... that would make I-95 the more logical choice.)

plus... see, here's the problem. i was thinking, why would anyone in their right mind add 175 miles driving west and then back east from and to philly?

but, mongo *is* driving, so the question just doesn't apply.

Just checked Mapquest for Directions from York PA to Stockbridge... looks like the logical directions go thru Jersey (right near Larry) anyway... so it's not so crazy after all!

??? Mongo is making sense??? stranger things have happened - LOL
