More prayers & vibes...

Hello all. We're feeling your thoughts and vibe and prayers. We really are. I wish I could report some kind of progress, but there hasn't been a lot. Joey is on a CPAP machine and not intubated at the moment and that's a little progress, but it was a two steps forward and one back kind of thing. I guess this is just going to take some time. Mom remains much the same. Her condition seems to be worsening, but only a little at a time. Machines are keeping her going, though. Without them she'd be gone by now. We had to decide what measures would be taken and which wouldn't. Comfort was our main criterion for deciding that.

Today we're snowed in along with much of the north east and mid atlantic. Our intrepid son-in-law went up to the hospital even though our daughter told him not to. We know that we can be more useful here, taking care of their dogs if he can't get home and stuff so we're not planning to attempt to leave the house for now. It's very weird to be spending this inactive day when so much is happening to our family, though.

My sister put it best. She said it's like we're just suspended between the past and the future and right now is just nothing except waiting to see what happens next.

Good to hear that Joey is making progress. Such a little person can't take big steps yet, little ones probably suit him better. For your mother and for you all, peace.

Hi,

I want to thank everyone again and let you know that my mother passed away today. My sister and I were there with her and it was peaceful.

Joey is doing well and will probably be home in a couple of days. The next few days will be full of arrangement and things and if I don't get back here as soon as I'd like, please know that we appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and vibes so much.

So sorry to hear the sad new, Pat.
