Forgive me if I am naively hoping for a few days of music, laughter, food and good times. I am so very tired of rage, conflict and the hidden orders of power and greed. There is a reason my FB profile under religion says "a wailing song and good guitar". Perhaps they are not the only things I understand, but increasingly, the only things I want to consider.

On a review or reference to Tales of 69 I saw a comment that said the Arlo of then was "a much more militant article then what we have today". I don't know if it is true although the performances suggest maybe it is. If so, I sympathize. Having family and friends about you, good times and no obligation to change the world, a task best left to the young, seem to me to be dammed good reward for a lifetime of service. It isn't retirement. It is ascendance.

If you use my secret mantra:

"We decided to have a good time so we had a good time"

whenever things get weird, things will work out.

I'll look for you Saturday but I probably will be working too hard. On Thursday at the Hoot, all I have to do is sing so there is more time to hang out (unless they put an amp back in and I have to run sound). Either way, see you there. kurt...

If they don't get weird, I'll be way disappointed. :)

We'll be easy to spot. I'm bringing two of my own gods.

Always fun . It was nice to meet some "new" folks like Len and Dana......if they don't come next year, I may have to go to Alabama and get them. Of course the absent were missed, Wyld, Pat & Bob, Mark & Deb ,The W!zard, ROB & SUE!,....I'm sure my quick short list missed somebody that I missed too.....help me out here!

I was happy to return to the famous tailgate after a couple or three years of missing it...
great fun as usual or maybe fun as unusual... how great to see so many folks in the same hallowed ground!...
cameras were flashing so pics will be coming... I promise mine public ...
saw and felt a lot of ghost like presences those who couldn't make it, those who'd been there, those who are yet to find their way... after all, it's celery time...

It was. It is. It shall be.

I'm still processing the weekend. We got hung up circling Atlanta so in home pretty late and of course today everything at work is on fire.

I said it on Arlo's FB page and repeat it here: the biggest accomplishment in Arlo's life is the people who surround him. I've never met a warmer, funnier, more loving crew. It's true: Arlo doesn't have fans. He has a flock.

Thanks aren't enough. Pix and videos as soon as I can get them done.

Well len, now that you( and she who must be obeyed) have sampled the Kool-aid, I suppose we can count you both in that number. :)
