Thank you, thank, thank you ALL for all the prayers, calls, cards, packages and most of LOVE you sent my way these last few weeks!

Don't have a whole lot of time right now to update things here but want to say that I'm enjoying walking upright again...having a little trouble keeping my pace as slow as it should be for the time being.....I keep forgetting that the incision area is not totally sealed...what a drag it would be if it came undone and...well, you get the picture, hee hee...

I will be talking with the docs on Monday to discuss the next plan of attack.....the pathologist said that they found more cells in the "margins" of what they cut out and they will need to be delt with at some point...
But enough of that for now.
I have been staying with some great folks....I am, for once, the youngest one in the bunch. One lady is 100 years old, very perky, alert and sassy. The other morning I walked into the dining room in my red robe and she got all fired up, wanted to know if that was HER robe I was wearing..! I was pretty tickled at her thinking I had snuck in her room, snagged HER red robe and had the nerve to wear it right in front of her...
I assured her that her robe was where she left it in her closet.
The other 2 ladies are in their 80's...one blind and sleepy, the other hangs in her room most of the time.
Ms Connie Chance uns the place and has been flooded with cards and notes from BlunderFolks...I think everyone has completely dazzeled her. She has become an honorary Blunderite.
Connie's husband Ray is 93, hardly a wrinkle on his face, and full of energy. He proudly gave me a tour of his earthworm farm that he has been working on for years. He said he believes we all have a responsibility to leave something for the betterment of the planet when we die. He is leaving gobs of earthworms....a really cool subject for another time....

A lot of you know that I have based most of my adult (loose usage of that word, hee hee) life in North Carolina and considered it paradise. Well, I have to say that I am deeply touched by the incredible people I've been in contact with here in Oregon, and have never imagined there could be doctors , nurses, etc so dedicated to the medical profession. I am really impressed...and more grateful than I can say. I have had the best of care all around. I have complete confidence in whatever the next steps turn out to be.

One more thing before I have to stop....I let the anestesiologist (did I spell that right?) know that I was terrified that I would wake up in the middle of the operation. I asked him to please load up the knock out stuff just in case. I also let him know that there would be lots of folks in the operating room with us....proceeding to go into an Arlo / Blunderite babble as I drifted into la la land. I hear they got quite a kick out of that....one of them said something about wanting to "watch that movie again..."

I woke up where I was supposed to....many hours later. I'm told I spoke with lots of people that evening....I guess I'll have o take their word for it.

Thank you all again. There's no one in the world quite like the Blunderite Family.
Sleepy now...naptime....
and ...BY THE WAY.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARRY!!!!{/B}

Kitty, you're sounding great!

I think OR docs have heard lots and lots of interesting stuff in their time.

I was told the same thing you were, that I said lots of stuff that I didn't remember at all. God only know what all I said.

Keep up your positive attitude.

I'm out and about today...first trip into town ....town looks great with high 70's temp and lots of people meandering in the little parks.
I talked to the doc the other day to see what my next move was supposed to be and was told that when I had my staples taken out they had said more surgery was needed but I had the choice of going right back in or waiting a bit....I am TOLD that I opted for waiting. Hard to believe I actually made a decision like that while so very groggy still...but realize that even in my grogginess logic prevailed (wow!) because I would choose the same option NOT groggy, reason being that there are hints of colon cancer cells and first I'll get a colonostaphy (sp???) to see if cells are deeper in there and go ahead and try to get the whole bunch attacked at one time.
Meanwhile, I am walking upright, eating like I never tasted food before and looking into ways to get to Arlo's Grants Pass gig in a few weeks....wouldn't THAT just be the best medecine EVER!!!

Big Love to you all, time to give the library computer back....

Glad to hear your doing well Kitty West! Under the circumstances. Continued success on your Drs. treatment plans. And your own...

Peace out/Rob

P.S. I was listening to some C.D.s the other day. I found a new found likeness for your cover, of Kris Kristofferson's "Me & Bobby McGee".

But I have been listening to some counrty lately. ( I realize your usually more alternative, or have a more 'Folksy' style. We had talked about this yrs. ago. But I listened to that C/D and it made my day....

TX 8)

Just pulled into Bend a few minutes ago after a long slow drive through various Oregon mountian passes.....2 hours were spent trying to figure why I kept ending up in Eugene over and over....one thing about Oregon is they don't waste much money on road signs...:)

All I can say right now is one night among the Guthries in song is the most powerful medicine in the world!!! Everyone looked great, sounded heavenly and I finally got to see/hear Olivia onstage...what a hoot!! She scribbled something on somebody's disgaurded CD plastic wrapping, handed it to me and said, "I made this for YOU!" I'm gonna keep it forever.
Passed on everybody's love....Arlo smiled and sends love back.
Sarah Lee's pregnant is showing ever so sweetly and ....on and on I could go if I weren't ready to get asome sleep after this all nighter.

Watched the bus leave, turn down the road and out of sight then Tristan (my grandson) and I got in our car...he went to sleep and I proceeded to take I-5 North instead of South like I should have..which was I supppose, Arlo's fault, hee hee.

I had this fleeting ihilarious image I thought I'd share with you all...thinking that someday when the bus pulled out, wouldn't it be fun for all of us to follow ...make it a parade, picking up various Blunderites in vehicles town by town,,,,well, it was "a fleeting thought".....:)

Off to bed now. SUre was good medicine last night. ... I think I'm HEALED!!!
