Oops..almost forgot to post this. We can't get there, but if there are any upstate blunderites looking for somthing to do on Saturday night A440 (that's my boy on the left) will be at the Metro in Saratoga Springs on Saturday night. Details here: http://www.a440.com/gigs.shtml

If any of you do get there, tell them not to drink and drive and to be going home.

Thanks, Wyld. If you do go, just tell the lead guitarist you're a blunderite. He'll understand. I hope they'll be up that way again when we can go. I know they hope so too.(that they'll be up there again, I mean. I'm sure that whether or not we can go isn't the major issue.)

I can't believe I forgot to mention this moment of blunder. We couldn't go to the church show last night, because we couldn't work out the Friday thing, so we opted to go see Arlo at West Point tonight - which is why we can't get to Saratoga Springs. But, since we were home last night we went out to A440's gig at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett. The moment of blunder is that this is the first time I've seen them play on the same stage where I'd seen Arlo. It's a little club all the way out on the east end of Long Island, and they get name acts like Arlo and charge about twice what you'd have to pay to see them most other places, and then after the famous person's (last night it was Suzanne Vega) show is over they have local bands, and at a ten dollar cover, that's about twice what you normally pay to hear them, too. Among the local bands that were playing there around the times that Arlo played there were the Zen Tricksters. Also a lot that no one has heard of since, of course.

It all shows that everything is really relative. When Arlo played out there it was just him and Abe touring around at the time and I remember thinking how I wasn't used to seeing them on such a small stage. There are five of A440 and it seemed like such a nice roomy stage compared to a lot that they play on. It's always nice to have a real, grown up sound system, too. I don't think Arlo thought it was the greatest, at least one of the times he was there, but for a local band it was wonderful. Anyway, they were a huge hit playing in front of a place full of new people. I don't know how Saratoga will go, but if it goes half as well as last night, it'll be great.

Anyway, just wanted to share a blunder mom's moment here, cause not everyone gets the significance of the thing, but I know you will. Heading off to West Point, now. I'm sure they're going to love blunderites there.
