Supposed to supply tunes at a party in the country,,,,but is freezing rain here and feel something coming on,theres a virus going around here called the Norwalk,a friend calls it the ewok virus.I hope it doesn,t make me look funnier then I already do if it does kick in....<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/blah.gif" width=17 height=17>

I usually spend part of NYE in blat, but this year, we're going into the city to see Rob's band play at Tobacco Road. We're out of our minds, you see. The gig is a couple of blocks away from Times Square and fifty miles from my living room where I'm very happy to see the years go in and out. It's a big deal for them, though. They worked hard and their booking agent worked harder, to get them this gig. They're opening for a famouser band and it's basically the best NYE gig they could hope for at this stage in their career and in fact a little better than they should have reasonably been able to hope for when they first started campaigning for it. We'll be heading out of town once they're done though. Not staying for the rest of the 24 hour party the club is advertising.

So happy New Year to you all and if ADG shows up in blat say hi for me. I'll be thinking of you while getting puked upon on the train ride home. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

Happy new year. We'll be spending the evening with extended family, not too far from home just enjoying each other's company. Sounds good to me. I found this prayer in my newspaper this morning and it seems to sum up what I've been wondering about this past year or more. Just got a call from my hubby--we're doing steaks and bakes tonight. Then it's us and Dick Clark. Sometimes feel totally like stodgy old folks. But sometimes, like tonight, I kinda like the feeling ... oh well.

JohnC is working tonight...Actually he's "the guy" on the NorthEast corridor tonight - (So Pat, you are in good hands.)

I just wanted to wish him a happy new year too (in case he gets two minutes to drop by), and thank him for being him. I know he'd rather be home or anywhere but at work...

I worked one New Years night when I was a student nurse. I was literally wrestling a 102 year old woman back to bed...(Why she couldnt stay up, I had no idea then or now).
The charge nurse (who was the prototype for nurse Ratchet) walked by the room, and sneered -"It's midnight...Happy New Year". I just sneered back at her (no comment, cause I needed the job). So, I know John is being responsible (so I don't have to be) and I appreciate it.

I hope he's not hating work that much tonight and I know he will do the great job I know he does - & come home unscathed to me and the beagle in the morning. We'll be waiting!
