Well, it got to being 8:00pm and there was Tom, Connie, and me sitting in the lobby extemporizing Nashville Cats segwaying into DoughReMi . The audients outnumbered us (just) so someone said "How about a song circle?" and we went with it. Two guitars and a banjo, mostly, with a harmonica on occasion. Stragglers flowed the circle to five at one point but by 10:00pm we ebbed back to three. Randy closed it out on lyre.

C'mon! We need body heat to overcome the air conditioning! Where were you?

The fall foliage is starting to display those wonderful colors! Time to come to the Hootenanny at the Guthrie Center! Mostly guitars with a sprinkling of banjo and singing but some poetry made it into the mix last week and the closer was lyre and singing! Signup at 7:00pm and stuff starts happening at 8:00pm more or less.

Thanks, Judy! There was about 9 singers and maybe 6 audients last night. Steve invited other people up during his set so it was George on autoharp and a new guy on guitar and Steve on harmonica and guitar for his first number and Connie on guitar and vocals, Nappy on drum, and Steve on flute for his second number and Steve on piano for this third number. The a capella jazz chatreause was back. There was five or six of us for the This Land Is Your Land closer. Hope to see some of youse guys next week!

The fiddle, guitar and autoharp are in the car...waiting for the northward journey to the Berks! I'll see you at the Hoot on Thursday!

I'm gonna harmonize with Sue, and probably Chuck Horn, too. I can't wait!

That sounds like a fun hoot. If I was there I'd attempt to play a few of my instruments & hope no one threw tomatoes at me LOL. I get stage fright bad tho lol. I am taking my dulcimer, autoharp, bowed psaltery & 2 canjos with me on our trip to KY so I can hopefully get a chance to play them in some hillbilly areas...

It's almost time for the Fall Revival shows! Are you SURE you can find your way to the church? Really, really sure? Why not avoid the stress and anxiety of boulevard blues and concourse confusion by making sure you know the way and come the the Hootenanny tonight? Great coffee, great companionship, maybe something interesting to hear. It could happen!

I know the coffee is great, because you make it Kurt Saturday night I am going to enjoy a delicious nice hot cup of coffee before the show and treat it like an appetizer and then when the main attraction starts break out the spiked grapes and spiked hops, spike up the party dude! Don't get hurt on the sharp edges!

On Hoot night I try to run the sound board. I think George gets the coffee ready before we get there.

It was great to see so many faces last night. Sue ended with some Irish fiddle and Judy sat in on two sets and a new friend just in via motorcycle from Texas sounded great and Jaayne Doe and her daughter did sets and Steve did some piano in between guitar/harmonica songs and I almost figured out how to set things for Justin by the time he was finishing up and Tom rocked out and our a capella jazz chanteuse was back. People seemed to have had a good time.

The folks on motorcycle from Texas... did they happen to be Connie and Chuck? If so... glad they made it ok. Tell them I said "hi".

Yeah Sue's a good fiddle player. Sounds like ya'll had a great time...
