Sending Blundervibes and hopes for a miss from Ike for Shirley and Chuck & Connie. If you do have to leave, you're welcome here! And I hope Cathy G. and Stephanie (and we) don't get too much water all at once from him, either!

I'm also sending them to everyone, and to my sister and husband, who live in Houston.

Chuck and Connie are in Austin. Huge Blundervibes for their home to be just as they left it when they return, safe and sound.

And Big Huge Blundervibes to Shirley and family hunkered down there in Houston as well as everyone else in the path of the storm.
Love, Prayers and the power of Blundervibes!!

Always; any time and forever! But it's going to be more than drizzling tomorrow, so maybe you'll need a raincheck. :) I'm concerned about Shirley and some Blunderites' loved ones still in Houston; C&C are in Austin and should be OK, but they may get torrential rain and wind, as we probably will. We're 400 miles inland, but it's still supposed to be strong here. It's a pretty straight shot with no hills or other barrier geography between us and the coast.

There's no global warming. There's no global warming. There's no global warming. There's no global warming. There's no global warming. There's no global warming.

(I know there have always been hurricanes, but they ARE stronger and more frequent now. It's what scientists 20 years ago predicted would be the first result of human-caused global warming; take note, Mayor/Part-Time Governor Palin.)

I saw pictures on TV, it’s terrible, the strength of the wind and rain.
I hope everybody is safe.
(A month ago, there was a tornado in the North of our country ,with unfortunately, casualties; and this week again windstorms and flood. There had never been such strong storms here.)

Vibes to everyone who live in this area in Texas

I had an email from Connie. She doesn't know how her house is, but her daughter and son-in-law's house has sustained quite a bit of damage. The porch is on the roof! She said they've heard it will be several weeks before power is restored in their area. At least they're fine in their hotel in Austin.

My sister and husband are fine; they've got a yard and swimming pool full of tree branches, debris and God-knows-what but they're okay. Their house survived, no broken windows.

They had to have their 15 year old border collie put down a few weeks ago; one of their two cats was very attached to the dog, and she spent a lot of time calling for and looking for Scout after she was gone. When the storm was getting bad, and they were looking for the cats to bring them into the bathroom with them where they were hunkering down for the storm, they couldn't find her...they looked all over. They finally found her on the mantle...curled up around the urn holding the dog's ashes.

I talked to Connie last night. If I understood her right, her daughter's house is not as bad as I thought. The whole porch was not up on the roof. The roof of the porch blew up on the roof. There is other damage to the house, though. They also had a stable, which is now gone, but the horses are fine.

From what Connie has heard, her own house is OK, or at least in good shape. They have a couple old trees by the house which they were sure would have fallen on the house, but they're still standing. Whew!

I asked her if she knew anything about the area where Shirley lives, or the area Shirley and her family hunkered down in for the storm. She hadn't heard anything about either area, and is assuming they're OK.

I asked Connie if there was anything she needed at this point, and she said just keep sending vibes!
