Sorry everybody--I thought we said Thursday instead of Friday. I was taking my son to a buddy's house. I did stop in to Moose Crossings, but rb had left already. I did just about finish "My War" and I enjoyed it. If you want to try for one more meeting, just tell me when and I'll see if I can get it right. I got my copy of "Imagine Nation" today--haven't really dug in yet, but it looks kind of dry--maybe I'm wrong. I can try again, too, and will. I'd say I'm sorry, but my Blunderite credentials are 'come by honestly,' as we say down here. So I'm not sorry. As I said earlier today to Pamram, I have finally found a way to be proud of them, so you can't make me be sorry for that.

I've been meandering through the posts and the bookclub sounds great....I just am not sure what everybody's reading...I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but my computer is right by my window, overlooking the rare snow...and my concentration is a bit jagged...actually my concentration is a LOT jagged normally anyway, and now it's :

Kitty, We have read and discussed "My War" by Andy Rooney, and we're moving on to "Imagine Nation" You can find the particulars in one of Wyldflower's posts. I don't know for sure when the next meeting will be--as you can tell from the posts, it's a true Blunderite institution!! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

... unless someone has another suggestion of what to read... I finally received my copy of "Imagine Nation" (I had suggested it because it discusses the Counterculture of the 60s and 70s... and was co-edited by someone who has been very helpful in our attempt to save the Woodstock Site from development.) As Pat had commented, it does seem a bit dry... I'm reading it anyway, but I'm definitely open to other suggestions!

Very true Wyld. I've been too busy myself to contribute much of late. (THIS IS a good thing for Rb)(Besides having the sinus infection of the century)GRRUR! Not good.

I'm heading to the bookstore today to hopefully get a copy. Is this still the book that's being read?

I have just started "Imagine Nation" and it reads like a history text, not much fun so far. School is taking up lots of my time. But I'll keep checking here to see what's going on. Don't give up! rb, I know what you mean about treading water--it feels like that's all I'm able to do lately. Life just keep swimming by,and the current is getting faster and faster!! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

I've been working some 50- to 60-hour weeks and haven't been doing much else but work, eat, and sleep, so the water treading is a good thing for me--I can drop some of the guilt about not even getting the book yet. It sounds like maybe we do need another book, though.
