That whole caucus thing is soooo #%@!ed up! Same with the electoral college and that whole redistricting that went on a few years back in some states. American politics is so screwed up! Shame on me for not remembering her name but an elder woman who was one of the first women in some elected position was on the Dick Cavett show back in the 70s. She thought that we should do away with the electoral college because, even 40 years ago, she said that we had the technology for a direct vote. We definitely have the technology now. While I do see some good with primaries whittling down the list of candidates, I'm all for one person, one vote. And whoever gets the most wins, period! That's the way it should be.

There are voting systems more fair and accurate in following voters' wishes than the "whoever gets the most votes wins" system we use in the U.S. Discover magazine wrote about them just after the 2000 nightmare-cum-election. I have to wonder how those voting systems would work when groups of Blunderites try to make a decision (as in, where do we meet for breakfast?). That would be a good test of any system!

Some weeks before the 2004 presidential election, a columnist, Alan Bisbort, in the Hartford Advocate weekly free paper quoted the CEO of Diebolt (the company who made Ohio's electronic voting machines) during his address of a Republican convention that he would "deliver" the Ohio Republican vote. Some time after the election, reports of some people's Kerry votes registering as Bush votes made minor press. Interesting that the above article states that the Ohio voting machine records were destroyed.

There was a chilling documentary on HBO a while back that dealt with the diebold mess.

Did you know that in the last two elections, George W. Bush asked his doctor for a Viagra prescription because he thought it would help his ELECTION results? Strange, but true........

As long as you won't vote for Hillary, I won't vote for Romney. There is a deal that was made in heaven.
But I hate a US Senator singing a Beach Boys song bomb, bomb Iran.
And now they tell us through the cia, that Iran stopped its bomb business in 2003. In the fall of 2003.

If we could all get dc to listen to Arlo's Someday cd, and play it loud enough, for the terrorist to hear, we might get some where.

If anyone can stop America's Imperilistic ways. We could also stop terrorism.

I am with Cheryl! We should just start painting crosses on the the helmets of our armed forces and get on with armageddon. If nothing else, then in the end, the survivors will know where God stands once and for all!
