One docking trainer was a blacklit styrofoam model painted in dayglo on a broomstick and rail with a chain and a tiny plastic window viewfinder with orientation numbers painted on it. I used to sleep in it after lunch at MSFC.

One of the guys who helped design a zero-g toilet lives a couple of miles down the road from a restaurant I occasionally gig at. Goes by the name of "Dr. Flush"! They have a framed cartoon rendering of him riding a rocket equipped with a toilet seat in their men's room with the caption, "This restroom is highly recommended by Dr. Flush!" or something of that nature.

I sure hope they bring that stuff down to Earth......the image of ten's of thousands of dirty diapers orbiting our planet is not very pleasant. On the other hand, if that was the first glimpse any visitors we might have encounter, it would prepare them for what they'll run into when they actually see what we've done to our lands and oceans.

They bring it all back, and liquids (as in urine and vapor from astronaut's breathing) are recycled and purified for re-use. They have carefully figured out the amount of gases emitted by human digestion (as in farts) and have measures to clean those substances from the air astronauts breathe. Any debris left in space is a potential dangerous object that could take out satellites, a space shuttle, or parts of the space station. Particles like paint flecks can put a hole in a space vehicle. You won't be seeing any dirty Depends coming at you at 17,000 mph.
The toilets used on the Space station involve powwerful fans that keep things from floating in air.
