My wife and I are glued to Aljaz and okay its "Brits out" but looks very likely that the USA minus the Brits (for now) are about to engage with Syria. The United Nations (Oh what a circus - oh what a no-show!) have again betrayed humanity by inaction so the Yanks are coming once again while Russia, Iran and their proxys rattle their swords and sneaky stuff towards the USA and allies while China sits on the fence waiting for their day to come. Why don't the big rich Arab countries take a more appropriate lead rather than the "Infidel" Why don't they deal with Assad and if troops are sent in shouldn't they be women and men from these very countries under the flag of the UNITED NATIONs? I hope US troops don't end up there or in Israel which may get dragged in.

Question I think is: Is President Obama a Bush or a Lincoln?

Don't know if you ever heard of this group ("Horslips") but the Brits are something else! Northern Ireland in the bad oul days and I'm sure if Aljazeera was around in those day they would have been banned by the British! War is bloody awful no matter where. (President Bill Clinton actually stood just across from the Park railings where you see the women running along grasping their children ("The Falls Road Curfew - 1970"). He and of course Hillary did for Ireland something the brits and we 'Ulster/Irish' folk couldn't do on our own - Bring on the Peace after over 3,000 lives were lost ) Hope you enjoy the music, if not the video clip but that was a wee bit of reality for some folk over here once upon a time. So a lot of folks in Ireland don't just appreciate music from the USA - We even appreciate some of your ("hands on" ) Presidents and their families!

Lets hope President Obama is even more successful elsewhere in bringing peace and justice to the oppressed. But I think not?
Hopefully someday we'll get to see Arlo back here in Ireland with a few 'keys"(But he doesn't have to wait to be President of the USA - we'll take him as he is!)

This forum was about Aljazeera in the good old USA so I'm bringing it back there and hope that's okay folks? (And yes, I do have a life and a day job and its not with Alj just in case you might just wonder)

Interesting insight on "James Steele" here. You'll get a '404' but just type in "searching for Steele" and walla you get another documentary look at the 'dirty' war in Iraq and it ain't nice but as someone may have said: The truth will set ya free baby but it surely has cost an arm, a leg, two eyes and a wee bit more for others.
4,000 US sons and daughters lost for what? Another reason for watching Alj and I sincerely hope that President Obama decides to talk to Alj when trying to promote his attack on Syria. Assad should be made accountable but not any more innocents. I don't have a nice song for this just sadness but perhaps this one maybe right for remembering. I saw the film many years ago and it put me off the 'John Wayne' types that I grew up watching and which helped make me want to be a soldier just like JW. (I suppose that's how I ended up with the UN in Iraq 1989 and we didn't carry any weapons and were able to walk the streets of Baghdad, Baquba etc and talk to Iraqi folks who were just like you and me)

oh yeah, when i clicked on the link (the aljz link) and the page not found came up, i went to the address bar, and backed off the "2.." (without quotation marks) that is at the end of it, leaving everything else and it got to the story. it is not the main story now (it was when i first looked), but is still listed below it.

There is so much bad news out there folks and it ain't just on Aljazeera, its everywhere! What with rotten, stinking bloody wars all over the place, floods, fires etc happening on our wee spinning globe today, yep right here and now so I was thinking that a few words and a song from Arlo might just help someone out there and give a little hope where its needed and maybe even a personal forgiveness heart hug will come your way. Anyway, Arlo seems to be oozing out something...and it sounds just right I think?

Thanks for the link Agnes. Truly inspirational! A bright wee spark in a burning bush full of rooster leaders on all sides. Such words make awesome music. I've posted the link on an appropriate (Egypt's next President) blog in Aljazeera. Its awaiting moderation so I may have to post it a few times to get the 'kid's' message through, if in fact it does? (I wonder, does the USA have kids, or even leaders, that smart, inspirational, knowledgeable and as courageous as this wee lad?)
