Incidentally, as for my own opinion on cloning (always subject to change if a better one pops up) ... first, thanks for the CNN post Cea. That clears some things up that I was wondering about.

Other than that, I seem to recall that not so long ago In Vitro fertilization stirred up much of the same contoversy. For that matter, so did the splitting of the atom.

The technology is there, "ready" or not, and therefore it's going to be used. I'm kinda' at the same place I am with drugs on this, i.e.,not much sense in making them illegal, since that never stopped anyone. Better to make every effort to educate ourselves in the responsible use thereof, than to pretend it isn't there or that it might go away.

that's very good, muffy. after reading ceashel's post from cnn, i think i can agree. it is a slippery slope but, as you said, it's going to happen...better that we become educated and make sure it's done responsibly for the purpose of medically helping people.

Sorry to hear you have diabetes. Mike & I both have it. I have an Aunt & Uncle who both have Alzheimers. Both are rough stuff. Good luck! I'm confused as to what to think about the cloning. He was injected with type B blood...he was a type o, untill the cells took over in his young body...turning his blood to type B...

Life is scary. I don't think we should be intimidated by it, though. The science IS the beauty of consciousness and life, if we allow it to be. Or we can allow it to be made ugly. Been there, done that. Not again.

Ceashel, I guess everyone's definition of scary, is differant. Life 'can' be scary, at times, I guess. I've had so many close calls, nothing seems to rattle me... But I think I get your drift Ceas....There are certain possibility's that not sure how I'd handle.....
