And Larry, I like your version--let's make it official (but you know what Pete says about making songs official).

I have an old friend who would like to speak on this topic....

Listen to R.T.P.

Now how can you argue with that?

OK Wyld,as I promised you, here is the story of RTP : AKA "Rooster Toilet Paper"

My title will be:
"Rooster Toilet Paper goes to Woodstock"

Hey Arlo, If you feel like doing a song about this one, I know a bunch of people and one rooster who would love it!

RTP is not your typical name for a rooster, and of course to have me, HomerJ, do this much typing you know he was a non typical chicken.

He was born in the spring of 99 and was scheduled to meet his demise in August of that year. The 1999 25th Woodstock reunion brought all kinds of hippies and such folk to a little farm in Bethel, NY all to indulge themselves for the unauthorized 3 more daze of Peace, Love & Music festival.

One particular group of hippies known as the "Rainbow Family" have a tendency to travel light and do their best to live off the land. When you are an outdoor gathering in the August heat, without refrigeration, fresh food can be a serious problem. One good way to keep poultry fresh is to keep it in its natural packaging. Hence enters RTP stage left.

RTP was a hippie's version of the military MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) All you need are a few simple tools some fire and water and a cook.

Now you may be asking yourself... what the hell is HomerJ talking about, and WHY is he being so verbose and not saying anything about why this poor rooster, about to meet Colonel Sanders, got the name Rooster Toilet Paper? For those of you with the stamina to read thus far...You still hangin in there Arlo?... I am gonna tell you about that right now...

As I mentioned earlier, The Rainbows travel light, and as this rooster was about to meet the Rainbow Cook when a serious shortage was noticed in the Rainbow supplies. It seems that someone had neglected to pack the most important item.. I mean even the IRS bureaucrats will admit that this is more important than the 1040A. Even Sears in its fame cannot outdo this paperwork with its massive catalog. Good old fashion toilet paper was not in the Rainbow Family's collection!

Now, to make a long story longer... I hear groans... There was another group of hippies camped near the Rainbows, and saw what was going on over there. Since RTP was free to roam the woods that weekend, they had become kind of fond for him as the rooster rummaged through their camp. These hippies, call them chicken lovers if you like, they figured it was time to put a stop to the Rainbows "finger lickin good" plan. Fortunately the chicken lovers came prepared with the all important paperwork necessary for life to go on, and had a roll of TP to spare. With a look of pain and anticipation on the Rainbows faces they were in no position to negotiate a better deal then one roll of toilet paper for one rooster's life spared.
Hence the almost complete story of how Rooster Toilet Paper crossed the road to Woodstock. Please don't ask me where RTP is now, at least not until after the song rights are negotiated...
Ya All come back now .... Ya hear
HomerJ

PS: all royalties for this story can be donated to your favorite "Save a chicken charity"
