I do try to see more than one side of things as a rule, and do respect views that may not be my own, but this is what it has come down to for me regarding George W. Bush and his defenders.

If you voted for Bush, Ok...it's your vote, I respect that.

If you agree with Bush on an issue....Ok, I repsect that.

If you defend a policy or opinion of Bush.....Ok, I can respect that.

If you try and defend the motives of Bush, I can respect that.

If you try to defend the intellect of Bush and try and tell me he is a smart man, I have just lost respect for your intellect and consider you an idiot as well. I don't really like feeling that way, but I do.

George Bush is smart enough to be President, even if he was not elected to the office, he is smart enough to fullfill his desires and to push his plans foward, but being smart enough does not mean he is wise, and what is needed in the office of the President is a very wise man indeed.

I think in many ways George Bush sees the world only as his plaything, a tool to advance his cause and his world view, much like Saddam, he sees himself as being good for the people and what's good for George is good for the people. George sees himself as being wise and reasonable and anyone who disagrees with him, must be both foolish and unreasonable, and with the war being fought and the media on his side, the need for the word antidisestablishtaryism comes into use almmost daily, (okay so it doesn't, and maybe I did not spell it correctly, but it sure seems that it's the new world view as far as many are concerned)

So is George Bush the man he sees himself as being, or is he closer to being another Saddam then he thinks?

Here's a crummy thing! American Airlines, which is headquartered in Ft. Worth, is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. They're negotiating with all unions for concessions to stay in business.

One of the concessions the pilots very reluctantly agreed to is that those people who went to the war won't have a job when they return!

Great reward, eh?

I thought they had to save their jobs, or at least honor their seniority. What happened to that?

After some thought on the subject, I have decided that perhaps I should have said, the powers that be, were smart enough to get George into office and to contol his actions while he is there, but even they must be putting themselves ahead of what's good for the country, the world and mankind in general, I just hope that perhaps even they know that this must end with Iraq, no more wars, least we become the terrorist ourselves.

Nathen, I hope that is right. I have been fearing that this will be only the start and praying that my fears are groundless.

Hows everyone doing?
I just wanted to know how did the big march in Washington go?
I didn't manage to get to the one in London, but I watched it on the news. According to the organizers around onehundred thousand turnd up but the Police said it was more like twenty thousand. They lay wreaths outside Downing street and held a two minute silence for those who have died. It was really thoughful and moving to watch and I feel really guilty about not being able to go.
Did your march go ok then? On the 15th feb there was news coverage about the marchs all over the world, only this time there was none.
