To do a quote, log in, then go to the post from which you want to quote. In the upper right there is a quote box, go there and click.
That entire post will go to your message body, and you can delete anything not related to your point. Then just express yourself, its a beautiful thing and I for one am glad to have your thoughts. Thank you for sharing!

It's nearly 6PM Tues EST evening here, and nearly 4AM Tues morn EST there so I guess it's time to show my hand.
After alot of thought I'm going with my strongest feelings,(that I've had for months). I think at this crucial time in our history it's Hillary for me.

I wonder if either party will lock up the nomination tonight.

I was hoping the GOP would continue heading toward a brokered convention, imploding along the way. But it looks like McCain has it wrapped up.

I managed to vote last night! Our prof let us out early so we could stand in line. What a difference just a few years makes when it comes to procedure. Here we are, in the "new" millennium, and our votes were cast on paper ballots! We blackened a box next to the name of the person we "preferred." Then we tore off the bottom section and handed that to some guy holding a manila envelope. We placed the top portion into a black container on the floor. It vaguely resembled a paper shredder! Oh, yes... while carrying our ballot paper to the "booth" where we would mark our choice, we got to see everyone else at their booths!

Is it just me, or have we really regressed that much in the past decade?

NM is still counting votes. No, it's not the major (2 feet +) snowstorms... it's absentee and provisional ballots... right now, Hillary leads Obama by a mere 117 votes in the entire state! Glad I got to vote last night.

That reminds me. I need to ask my mom when the elections in VA for Republican are. She told me & I'm not sure if it's next Tues or the one after that. I gotta give a little support to Huckabee...

Terrie, I'm so glad you got to vote. I'm not so sure NM is regressive, though. You can re-count paper ballots and they're harder to hack than Diebolds.

Walden O'Dell is a mega-major Bush supporter who also happens to own Diebold, Inc., the company that makes most of the electronic voting machines used in the U.S., and just coincidentally those machines were first really widely used in the 2004 presidential election and also just coincidentlally there were a lot of problems with them. They have no way to trail and verify the votes. They're easily hacked, and many people believe they delivered at least Ohio, but probably other states, to Bush in 2004. Shelley, thanks... as always a wealth of knowledge. I've passed your response on to my roommate who also thought we were regressing in NM's voting techniques.

I've been voting since 1972 and have never used paper/pencil before. I kept looking for the machine with the black curtain. I always thought paper voting was "backwards."
