Does that mean lawyers are big people? I thought lawyers were to fill staffs so hot shots like Roy Cohn and Robert Kennedy can make names for themselves? Those are two of the great lawyers from the 50's? I have lawyers in my family. My brother the lawyer tells me there is always and opposing argument. I told him you don't have to go to law school or pass a bar exam to know that! On the weekends he goes to the Sierra Nevada's to meditate. I sit on the couch, drink Sierra Nevadas and watch football.

Really I don't care if they are a lawyer, I was just thinking how out of control this has become....that she has come this far without having to show that she has the credentials to run the country....McCain says she is just what Washington needs. I have had to eat my words before on these boards, I just hope this time It does not come to this!

This country is in serious trouble. I do not have any confidence that McCain/Palin are capable of solving the financial issues. I hear McCain saying we can , and we will solve the problems, guaranteeing a win on Nov 4th. What the hell is that about? Guaranteeing a win? How can the same man say he can guarentee a win on Nov 4th and then say Obama is taking a victory lap but he would defer to the voters? So would that be before you make the guarantee? Is this a Seinfeld episode?

What good does it be to be logical in such an illogical world?

I hear McCain sounding really defensive about Obama's discussions with Nancy Pelosi. I hear fear in this man's voice when talking about Democrats controlling ( only 60 seats needed, its a movement.)

I have been on the losing side of Democratic candidates before, starting with McGovern, I don't want to lose this one, there is too much at stake, and I do not get the sense that Palin understands this. That it is a game, that it is great fun, that it is ok to bend the rules.

Politics frustrate me , but then again, other things frustrate me right now! I need to seriously chill out a bit, I know.

Well, to be accurate, I should post that ABC News misquoted McCain.

I just don't think that people who have passed bar exams are the only people qualified to be President. You can be book smart, perform well on standardized tests, and actually be clueless and out of touch with the common people and reality, and have no common sense about everyday things or how poor people live and struggle to survive.

I know people who have made a career out of going to school and getting multiple masters degrees. Yeah, they're very, very smart...and they're not qualified nor would they have a clue about how to scoop turds out of my cat's litterbox. But I bet they could write a thesis about it!

Whoa! Now if that is not an indictment of American Education then I don't know what is! Did they get their degrees from Harvard?

I know this guy that went to Yale. If you asked him to scoop the tootsie rolls of of your cats litter box, he would probably taste them first to see if they really were tootsie rolls.THEN, he would ask you how to use the scooper thing. Hard to imagine we elected him twice.......huh?

Oh, and on a side note, don't ever confuse education with intellect. Two different concepts.

There is always so much for us to learn, often in totally unexpected places and situations.....I always reminded my daughters as they were growing up not to let their schooling get in the way of their education, implying that there is a big universe out there with infinite things to teach us, only limited by our imagination.....and heck, they turned out pretty good.....I mean, they can sing "Alice's Restaurant", the "Motorcycle Song", and recite every word of the story of "Reuben Clamzo and his Strange Daughter in the Key of A"............Poor kids, what have I done?
