Todd, of course you may use "no term limits because vampires don't die"; use it as your own. I'm flattered. I wouldn't post anything here I didn't want repeated, whether attributed to me or not. If I were worried about "copyright," I wouldn't say it anywhere on the Internet.

I didn't see your post until Thurs. afternoon because my Mac at home decided not to recognize my modem even though everything's lit up and buzzin' and connected. Norton says my drive's okay, and all my control panels and extensions are set correctly. Probably it's old cables, but I can't get on except at work until I fix it. Bummer.

I hear that Dick Armey is planning a Dick Navy and a Dick Air Force as well. That's a lot of dicks. Be careful!

Well, I will have to be careful. Sounds like he's coming home at the end of next year. Good for the country. Bad for Texas. We sent some of the "hot air" to the White House, but now Congress is sending some back. I guess it's a balance thing; probably was getting way too smelly in D.C. Time to start planning the celebration for next year--maybe a few widows and orphans and disabled and sick people will have a chance for some help, after all, once he's out of there.

Cea -- FYI, copyright works on the Internet just as much as anywhere else. If you publish it on the Internet, it's considered published-in-some-form by the copyright office. If you claim something is your own here, in other words, it had better be.

I have no idea what the reference to copyright here is about, though. Haven't read the whole thread yet -- just part of this last page. Felt I should mention it ...

Muffy, thanks, but the point was I wasn't worried about my own copyright; that anything I say here can be quoted/copied, or I wouldn't say it here. In fact, part of my "real-life" job is "copyright cop" in a publishing environment. LOL.

You sitting down? Dallas elected a good person to be mayor. Really a good one. Laura Miller started out writing for the Dallas Observer, digging out and reporting the truths at City Hall...many minor emperors were revealed by her to be "wearing no clothes," stealing, lying, cheating, etc. Since then, she's become a city council member, and now it's Miller Time in Dallas. The good-ol'-boy bidness community <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/reddevil.gif" width=16 height=16> is not amused. We're tickled, as we come out of our shock. This is maybe the third time that someone I happily voted for actually won!

Arnie, I know anything is possible, but that would be like saying they were going to make Todd one of theirs. This lady is for real, and she takes shit off no one. We figure they're going to emulate the Republican congress during the Clinton administration, and try to block every good thing she tries to do, then blame her because it didn't get done. If so, they are underestimating Laura Miller.

Muffy, I figure Goddess gives us at least one good break. This, then, is Dallas's.

The last time I was in Dallas, I was picked up by the police -- for taking a walk. Apparently, I looked suspicious to the neighbors. (Probably the same people who've been on my case in Woodstock all these years -- they must've moved here after that, and they still don't like my looks.)

Did I mention that I was 13 at the time? Oh yeah. 13 year old girl takes a walk. Hell, who wouldn't call the police for that one?

You were due for a break, Cea. Goddess bless.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government." - Thomas Jefferson
