Although I didn't care for Reagan as President, and I don't hold organized religion in high esteem, I am struck this morning by the images of pomp and ceremony that the state funeral provides to us and the world.

I hope with all my heart that these images can somehow wipe away those that tarnished our reputation lately.

Still proud to be an American, but we've got to make ourselves still better.

Yes, I too am riveted by the images playing on my TV. I've decided not to take my Spanish Final, instead opting to watch the funeral. Nancy is so stoic, but the years of taking care of Ronnie certainly have taken their toll. I wish her the best as she now flies back to CA for yet more services and burial.

After the moment of silence for Reagan the disc jockey played Ray Charles' America the Beautiful. I'm not really sure what that says about the nation. I think in the long run it might actually be something good.
